can't imagine that would be any better. the reflective material on the original headlights on both b4's i have is all but gone. before i found these i thought maybe i'd try some of that reflective paint myself, but i've never done that. have a strong suspicion it wouldn't last....
the plastic housings to have a "made in germany" sticker on them. i guess only time will tell on the quality of the reflectors. i'm guessing they'd have to likely be better than most of what else is out there...
trying to get out of the "conversion fees" or whatever it is seems impossible. it was 266euro after taxes were added, so only an extra 5%. at the price, iwasn't going to spend hours figuring out how to get around that... :)
finally put in a new t-stat and coolant temp sensor in wifes BEW golf... been putting that off for too long. should be much happier now with both working correctly. also finished getting rid of the hard coolant/fuel on the head. forgot to take a pic of the results, but i like much better. less...
could be your turbo leaking oil, injectors, turbo not boosting as it should. kinda silly to jump to the conclusion you need thicker oil based on that.. all sorts of things could be the problem. why make a wild guess?
just got these:

excellent price, genuine OE hella glass lenses, eurospec i assum, and come in genuine hella boxes in sealed aluminum foil bags... quite a good deal!! only 255euro shipped
just an fyi for anyone who wants to replace your crappy old ones
and forgot of course an easy add-on coolant heater. if you have a predictable commute, it's so easy to get a timer and plug it in during the evening, have it set for 1.5-2hrs before leaving, and get that instant big bump in temps. i haven't used mine in a while, but i used to have an outlet by...
my thoughts on this is you can build up a stock block with hardware/tune up to ~180whp with zero sacrifice to efficiency or reliability - OR serviceability. it's 100% true a lot of builds hack stuff in to make serviceability more of a pain, or introduce problems in their own right (eg, hoses not...
imo, with a combination of things, egr delete will not have any measurably longer warmup time
1) good tune (different timing/boost maps than stock for the colder coolant temps)
2) working coolant glow plugs (which tune can increase the time for)
3) 5minute radiator block
you can make a stealth...
i love having spools of terminal ends at my disposal. that and huge rolls of adhesive lined heat shrink from alixpress. the stuff i got is great. 50m roll dirt cheap.... then a couple different sets of crimpers :)
