For those of you who did the "Buyback Trade in" of your TDI that still had outstanding years of coverage under the VW Mechanical Breakdown Extended Warranty, I am wondering how the dealer may or may not have 'compensated' you in the purchase of your replacement VW.
(I have read that the dealers...
Yes not a big deal (except we do lose the amount of the HST on $500). I was just hoping to understand the process better. With such a minimal change in the kms driven I am guessing that the FMV decrease is solely due to the 3.5 months that has occurred from the initial agreement to the upcoming...
UPDATE:
Since July 20 (with mileage 28611 km) we have had the approved buyback/trade in offer from RP.
Specifically the FMV was stated as $24550
And the Amount to be paid as $8500
(For a grand total of $33000)
As we are now within 20 days of the return I got the expected call from RP...
I was hasty and purchased a fuel filter for our TDI about 8 months ago using the VW VISA card. I have not used it and this TDI will be returned next month. I can ask the dealership but I am just wondering if you think the filter can be returned (if only for credit)?
That is the plan.
I had thought that I could actually turn in the TDI early to RP and so have no delay taking possession of the new VW ie as soon as it arrived BUT my sales rep said this is not possible . (But it is a moot point anyway as there were no RP appt dates which would happen...
I just assumed there would be lots of appt times but it looks like I waited too long to book the return of our TDI i.e. our 18 R is to arrive around November 15th or maybe earlier but the earliest RP appt date I could get is November 20 :(.
That isnt the issue.
This was.
(I maybe mistakenly thought that I had got her on the phone with RP early on in the process to get it on record that I could 'speak' on her behalf at any time...maybe I hadnt)
Anyways I did mail it in. (Does this mean we will need to wait for snail mail back...
After receiving the settlement offer back in mid July we are just now going to return it initialed and I see when logging in that we are between Stage 16 and 17 but for the life of me I cant see how one is able to upload the scan of the 9 pages. But now I think about it I must have chosen, way...
.
As of mid July we have the buyback trade in 'letter' from RP for our 2015 GSW We have had on order (since the start of July) a 2018 GOLF R that was expected in by October but now it may not happen until January 2018. So our GSW has essentially sat in the driveway since mid July and it looks...
Thanks for confirmation. My friend ran across this recently when he asked the AUDI dealership about the upcoming "buyback" cheque and he was told that they would not accept the endorsed RP cheque. But I see in this thread that some dealerships have taken it . Given the commonality of...
I was thinking more of when the dealership is informed by...Ricepoint? that the TDI owner wrote in their dealership via the portal.
(Is it an involved process to change the specific dealership say
prior to us returning our received "settlement benefits" "Offer"?
subsequent to returning...
Thanks for the info 'crashtested'.
At what point does the selected dealership know officially that we have selected them for the FMV trade in? I ask as I wonder if this helps or hurts one's bargaining power when negotiating the deal on the new VW .
We recently received the "offer of settlement benefits ("Offer") (SELECTED OPTION: BUYBACK WITH TRADE-IN).
Looking through the 9 pages I don't see the specific name of the dealership that I had specified in the on-line application....does that make sense?
How long do we have to return the 9...
I just checked and our 10 year/200000 km 5 Star warranty obtained through the dealership at the time of purchase is LGM. It is clearly unfair that refunds stopped as of February. It should be a prorated refund and so a cut off as of February doesnt make sense.
So we have the almost $3k warranty...
Thanks ecode. So warranties purchased directly through VW at the time of purchase can have different underwriters and so be treated differently in terms of a refund?
