My husband advised me yesterday that my 2012 Passat is more expensive to insure than his 2012 Camaro Callaway. He has over 570 hp. I have a better driving record than he. No points. I will definitely be looking into this.
My 1500k warning light came on Friday. I drove less than 300 miles this weekend and my warning is now that I have only 300 miles remaining. I drive 60 miles one way to work and now I am worried. I can't trust the warning system apparently. I left a message with my dealer and hope they will take...
Ditto. Love the nasty looks! And the "hey dumb lady, you know that's a diesel pump". I sure hope so! Oh and ditto on nozzle color. Tripped my husband up and he put a few gallons of gas in his diesel.
I have the DSG and I am averaging 44 mpg with only one third of my commute being highway driving. I drive 57 miles each way. If I could change I would buy the manual. The DSG drives the car, not me. And I don't always like its decisions. I also bought the extended warranty bc the DSG is really...
My Jetta handled much better. I travel mostly back roads and the little hills and curves toss the Passat. It doesn't stick. Which I guess I should expect from a bigger car?
One thing that surprised me is that the car feels free to turn on my Pandora radio on my iPhone without asking me. And I don't even know it is playing. I just glance down and see my phone is playing. And I might be listening to satellite for example. Runs up my data minutes. I have to keep my...
If I equate it to driving a manual it acts like you meant to shift from fifth to sixth and hit 2nd by mistake. Slows quick that's for sure. Again, it could be me just being more sensitive. For the other person who responded I am a she not a he. And don't say that explains everything now. :D
Thanks. I read a few things. Will keep researching. It just feels so weird sometimes that I am afraid something is wrong. Slips sometimes when I start off quick. Shifts when I don't expect it. It's probably all as designed I am just paranoid. I was told my Jetta tranny was going bad at 130k and...
Wish I bought the manual. I hate the dsg. Just can't get the feel for it. And the engine brake spikes up to 3500 RPMs sometimes which is so noisy and annoying. I could see if it happens while descending a steep hill but sometimes it seems so random. Not sure who's driving the car me or the dsg.
Thanks all. Mine doesn't even have the option on the key fob. I do not have nav. I do have dsg (which I can't seem to adjust to), leatherette, sunroof.
We bought the four year 100 k. We never buy these but the dsg on my Jetta was failing after only 130k and the quote to fix was $3500. The guy told me the tranny on the passat runs 7k. I usually keep a car forever. The Jetta was the first car I ever traded back in. They came down significantly...
Thanks. I closed the dash vents today and i still have limited air flow from the floor. My daughter even commented today and asked if it even works. I will run it like that for awhile and see if I notice a difference. Appreciate the suggestions.
2012 Passat TDI. When the heat is directed to the floor heat still comes out of the dash vents nearest the windows. I end up roasting before my legs ever get warm. The vent for the floor is just about a one inch diameter tube. It doesn't fan out at all. My legs and my knees ache from being so...
