I have been around engines quite a bit, but unfamiliar as regards what to look for when examining a timing belt. I suppose I could simply 'google' it.

I noticed that my NB also has a new MAF sensor... I think that is a good thing. I will change out the various filters this week. My only worry is in regards to the timing assemby (belt, water pump etc.)... I couldn't get any accurate info from anyone about whether and when it had been last...

The very first I noticed about this car when taking a look at it... as compared with the Jetta.... HEAVY doors!! Dunno why that struck me.. but it did.

The car is really solid but it is used and 12 years old. It needs a few little things... like a new knob for the electric mirrors, a fixing of the rear hatch release mech. (still works manually with the key), needs the dipstick tube replaced (costs about 5 bucks) and I noticed the passenger side...
