That's the opposite of what VW does. They gladly give out technical support/diagrams for a fee. Not free though.
ODIS E can write dsg with the VAS tool. Shop probably doesn't have it and doesn't want to deal with it. Doubt flashing back to stock will fix anything.
Agreed.
If the turbo is new, different story.
Putting on a used turbo is always a gamble without knowing how vehicle it came off was running.
Also it's no different to any turbo vehicle that's been sitting around for a period of time.
Unless you pin the accelerator on startup your not going to...
My advise is to actually look at the car inside. Look at the panel seems for discoloration cracked or lumpy sealer. Look at the trunk , under the hood, footwells, anywhere exposed metal is. CARFAX and AutoCHECK give you history of reported accidents but there's many many accidents that don't get...
I got a westfaila kit for my mk6 which bolts to the chassis legs rather than the sheet metal. It's rated for 1.5 ton but I'd never pull more than 2k lbs. Legally I'd need brake after that anyway.
Kit was expensive to import ( cost as much as the hitch itself) but there are cheaper kits...
I'm not going to lie, I drive like a lunatic most of the time. Sometimes I reach the top speed of the vehicle when I'm giving the inlet a good clean out on the highway when nobody is about.
Still get around 800km/500 mile to a tank. But my car is a bit lighter on some parts.
Something is wrong with it if your only getting 24 mpg. I got 26 mpg towing the past two weeks with my mk6 with some pretty heavy loads at 110 kmph. In sport mode whole time. Wasn't aerodynamic either, large fridges, washing machines, sofas etc (bought new place)
Dual mass flywheel.
Very common failure on mk5/mk6 tdis. Also made worse if it's been modified. Shifting is when it's most noticeable.
But like Pedro said mk7 tdis seem to go through CPS often enough to be also a culprit. I'd do some logging to see if the CPS signal is dropping out.
Mk6s don't run the fuel pump like older versions. Turning the key on doesn't prime the system. Cranking the engine does though.
Get VCDs already,it's the best $200 you'll spend and take the guess work out of the equation.
Of the first 4 revisions, when engine was warm it would hunt constantly on idle. Thought it was a couple of injectors even though the deviation numbers weren't bad so I installed new injectors as they were not in their prime anyway. Of course it did it after the install. 5th revision got rid of...
I have this excat issue and i can also vouch it feels really bad on the drive train.
I'm also dealing with issues with my Touareg as I got a tune from them and I'm currently on my 5th or 6th revision. Kinda had enough of Malone and tunezilla.
Customer support is good but the tunes seem to be...
Apart from the usual things like tires, weight etc. Check your ash loading on the DPF with VCDS. If it's getting full it will drink way more fuel to keep the dpf happy and clear.
My 2010 golf had this before it was deleted. While CJAAs aren't ALH good the economy isn't far different. Deleted...

Mine happens a bit more during cold weather but doesn't effect anything. When warm only does it rarely. Even though I've only done 115k it's still original.
My mk5 is still on its original 18 years on but does make a small racket when...
Just to clarify that Hino is a subsidiary of toyota which did get caught cheating emissions in 2022 and IS sold all over north America. So even though it's not the case THIS time ,it still shows that toyota is STILL cheating regardless of which country it's in.
Just because it doesn't happen in...
It's probably the EGR change over flap bushing. I've repaired a handful. Quite common on BRMs. Intermittent hissing is a big giveaway.
Here's a DIY. Can't confirm how good it is because I welded my own shut. Permanently...
