    WTB: 02j (5-speed) Transmission mount bracket (1J0199117P)

And just to be clear. I don't need the actual "mount" with rubber that attaches to the chassis (as that should be the same auto or manual), but just the metal bracket that goes between the transmission and mount.

    WTB: 02j (5-speed) Transmission mount bracket (1J0199117P)

Thanks. The part number (1J0199117P) is stamped/cast into the bracket. Should be the same part for all 02j's.

    WTB: 02j (5-speed) Transmission mount bracket (1J0199117P)

Ah thanks, but don’t go pulling parts for me. I was just hoping someone had one laying around. Yeah, same part for tdi or gasser 02j’s. I’ll buy the $100 ebay one if no one can ship me one today. Much thanks though.

    WTB: 02j (5-speed) Transmission mount bracket (1J0199117P)

I'm doing an auto -> manual swap and realized I didn't get this from the junkyard (4 hours away) for $10 when I had the chance) These are $250 new, cheapest one on ebay is about $100 shipped. Can anyone hook a long time TDIclub user up? (not asking for a handout, but less than $100 would be...

NYTimes: Price of Diesel, Which Powers the Economy, Is Still Climbing

Who do you think is closing down refineries? Biden? I suggest a bit of reading https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2022/06/20/refineries-profit-gas-prices/

Jetta breaks bled, master bled. Soft breaks.

Manual or auto? If manual, did you bleed the clutch slave cyl? Not sure that a bit of air in the clutch line would cause your symptoms, but it's something to check.

    Rear strut brand recommendations

I like Koni's myself. I found Bilstein TC/B4's make me feel every crack in the road, but didn't improve handling enough for it to be worth it. That being said, they are a smoking deal and what I would recommend to anyone wanting to keep the factory suspension feel. IDParts and FCPeuro both have...

    Looking to improve wagon handling

Right, and tires/tire pressure absolutely effects handling, so it's all on topic. I'm curious to know what tire pressure snakeye runs. Pressure too low could cause vague and wobbly handling.

    Looking to improve wagon handling

Lol. Running a 0.3” taller tire doesn’t ruin the handling (195/65R15 vs 215/55R16). I’m running the same size summers as Rrusse11. Speedometer is more accurate as well. You run whatever pressures you like, but 36~38psi is what I’ve found works for me, isn’t too harsh or too vague, and has even...

    Looking to improve wagon handling

Yeah, to me the whole point of owning a wagon is the ability to load it down. I went with stiffer rear springs vs a rear roll bar for that reason. I don't regret it one bit. I go camping with a hitch mount bike rack and two mountain bikes sometimes. Stock ride height gets me to 99% of the places...

    Looking to improve wagon handling

I gotta say, when I switch to my 205/70R15 winter tires I always think the handling will suffer, but I find I can drive almost as fast as I do with my 215/55R16 AS05's. I do keep the winter tires at 36psi or so when I don't expect snow, and 32psi when I know there will be snow. At 36psi they...

    Looking to improve wagon handling

That was my experience and it's why I went with the CG coilovers. You can pick any spring length/rate you want, only limited by shock travel. Like I said though, once I stiffened up my springs, I found I don't need a lift because bumps don't cause the car to dive anymore. I still wouldn't go...
