The fender liners are pretty cheap new. I think around $20.

In Tank Screen for TDIs with VE IP

Mainshaft seal can leak air in while sitting, or running. The front cold start cover also connects to the front of the pump. Clear line to the front of the pump would help you see where the air was moving to after shut down. Clear line from the pump will let you see if air is being drawn in...

    EDC15

Curious about this too. I downloaded it about 6 months ago but can't remember where. Had a hard time downloading a file to it, but that is a common problem with my computer. Might have needed to change the format or something. I don't know if winOLS is better or if there is a better option.

SOLD!!! - 2002 Jetta Sedan - North Missouri

How much did it sell for? Sometimes folks are looking for an example if their car gets totaled and they don't get a good offer.

Clutch job...SMF conversion or DMF and which one

Flywheel to crank bolts need replaced, not the same as the older 1.6 or 1.9 crank bolts. These have a round head and require an XZN bit/socket. I think you can get by with using the old pressure to flywheel bolts. But they are so shallow it's hard to get a good grip on them so get a few extra...

#$%^! Broke a hard brake line. Now what?

Yep, the bubble flare can be tough to do. Sometimes it wants to lean to one side or bend wrong. Best to do some practice on a spare piece first,... now I tell you, ha. Since it's going to go up against the flat part of the nut and basically turn into a D-shaped bubble, most times I just...

#$%^! Broke a hard brake line. Now what?

Interesting video, about holding the brake peddle down a ways to keep fluid from draining. I've been putting a bread bag over the reservoir cap and screwing it on to seal the cap and keep air from venting into the reservoir. If air can't get in, then fluid can't syphon out.

How to remove an Allen wrench bolt?

Sometimes you can tap a socket on over the outside of the allen head. Not sure what size socket fits tight on those intake bolts. I've even used a 12 point XZN socket hammered into the allen head with some success.

Is this the hose that go from slave to master cylinder?

What year is your car? I think early ones used a different end,.. maybe threaded instead of the o-ring and clip.

#$%^! Broke a hard brake line. Now what?

You can reuse that fitting if you get the old, twisted tubing out. Then put it over the line and make your bubble flare. Probably enough slack in the old line that it will still reach, you didn't lose much in length.

    I'm need of a guru.

When the vwdieselparts.com forum was going strong, I had people sending me texts and asking me questions, instead of asking on the forum. Like I was supposed to be their free personal consultant. And spend my time typing a bunch of stuff no one else on the forum could even see or benefit from.

My first TDI. A 2000 Jetta

Yes, it's an OEM valve cover. I removed the old gasket, it took a while but I got it all scrapped clean. I'd use something other than right stuff next time, it didn't stick real well in some spots and could be pulled off if I tried. Got it from these guys: 1998-2007 VW BEETLE GOLF JETTA TDI...

2000 Jetta TDI in Iowa $3750

This is the first TDI project of my own. I've drove and worked on this car for 4 years and put 7000 miles on it in that time. I have it to the point where this a reliable car. Here's my build thread: My first TDI. A 2000 Jetta | Page 4 | TDIClub Forums It lists the work that's been done...

My first TDI. A 2000 Jetta

The new gasket sure fits on there nice. I put Right Stuff in the grooves on the cover to stick the rubber gasket in place. A little extra in the corners. Seems like a well-made gasket, it stuck in place very nicely. I bolted it to a used head to cure. I'll put it on and see if it leaks...

Got the clutch swapped. Took care of the shutter when taking off and it shifts nice, no more rev matching. Stock DMF. Works great now. Only problems with it now are with the: Radio. It doesn't have much sound with the antenna plugged in but gets louder when the antenna is unplugged and held...

Thought I was getting a parts car but it's too nice

Took a better look and all the rear hatch/latch stuff is gone. When the button is pushed there is a solenoid but there is nothing for it to push on. The cover is gone so it was a problem before it died. I got the rear brakes done. And now the starter won't turn over fast enough to get it...
