I got married, so I wanted another manual transmission VW but with more room for cargo than Golf. Wife vetoed the wagen, so Tiguan was the only choice left for me.
So, my insurance company offered me $14k, and I accepted it. It turned out that the guy that hit me had the same insurance company as mine lol.
I put a deposit down on a manual Tiguan that will be here in 2 weeks. So this is the end of my TDI career for now. It's been 3 fun years. Thanks...
I never thought I would be posting a thread like this:( This car has served me very well. I was rear-ended 25 miles from home after having driven 250 miles.
At 125k miles, KBB says my car is worth $9200 in very good condition in a private sale. I cannot see the repair can be economical given...
The latest IC kit sets the trigger temperature at 10 deg C or 50 deg F.
I don't have the IC kit because I'm at 120k miles. I got the lower grill cover from idparts.com in January and so far thru the multiple ice / snow storms in the Northeast and the recent temperature swings my car has not had...
If you go to the first post of this thread and look at its earliest info, you will see that the part number of the kit has always been 1K0-198-803-B since Day 1.

The bad news is no one has a clue.
Engine air filter is "6 years regardless of mileage." Yet the table shows every 60k miles.
Brake fluid change is 3 years for the 1st flush, and thereafter every 2 years regardless of mileage. And the table shows every 20k miles.
How am I supposed to interpret this crap instruction? 6 years...
There must have been a bad batch of sun visors delivered to VW. My 2010 Golf's driver's side visor also had the same problem. It was replaced under warranty and has been fine since.
To date, after 110,000 miles, that sun visor and the exhaust valve have been the only 2 problems on my car...
Yes, that sentence is really the key. It's not who does the final assembly. It's who supplies the plastic trims, steels, electronics components / sensors / controllers, wiring harnesses, etc.
For such a large production site as Puebla, you can be sure that all major suppliers establish...
If I wash the rear window and then immediately activate the front windshield wash, the fluid will come out back in a steady stream for as long as I keep pulling the wiper stalk.
If I wash the rear window and then wait for a while (maybe 5 minutes) before washing the front, then the fluid will...
