    Drunk driver rear-ended me. Totalled?

I got married, so I wanted another manual transmission VW but with more room for cargo than Golf. Wife vetoed the wagen, so Tiguan was the only choice left for me.

    Drunk driver rear-ended me. Totalled?

So, my insurance company offered me $14k, and I accepted it. It turned out that the guy that hit me had the same insurance company as mine lol. I put a deposit down on a manual Tiguan that will be here in 2 weeks. So this is the end of my TDI career for now. It's been 3 fun years. Thanks...

    Drunk driver rear-ended me. Totalled?

I never thought I would be posting a thread like this:( This car has served me very well. I was rear-ended 25 miles from home after having driven 250 miles. At 125k miles, KBB says my car is worth $9200 in very good condition in a private sale. I cannot see the repair can be economical given...

Hard Start / No Start - Is your intercooler frozen? Check Here!

The latest IC kit sets the trigger temperature at 10 deg C or 50 deg F. I don't have the IC kit because I'm at 120k miles. I got the lower grill cover from idparts.com in January and so far thru the multiple ice / snow storms in the Northeast and the recent temperature swings my car has not had...

Hard Start / No Start - Is your intercooler frozen? Check Here!

If you go to the first post of this thread and look at its earliest info, you will see that the part number of the kit has always been 1K0-198-803-B since Day 1. Likewise, if you click on the link and read the earlier version of the TSB, it also says "Install revised charge air cooler kit P/N...

    2.0 CR TDI timing belt?

Engine air filter is "6 years regardless of mileage." Yet the table shows every 60k miles. Brake fluid change is 3 years for the 1st flush, and thereafter every 2 years regardless of mileage. And the table shows every 20k miles. How am I supposed to interpret this crap instruction? 6 years...

    Visor won't stay up

There must have been a bad batch of sun visors delivered to VW. My 2010 Golf's driver's side visor also had the same problem. It was replaced under warranty and has been fine since. To date, after 110,000 miles, that sun visor and the exhaust valve have been the only 2 problems on my car...

Official - No Golf or GTI's in the US market for 2014!!

Yes, that sentence is really the key. It's not who does the final assembly. It's who supplies the plastic trims, steels, electronics components / sensors / controllers, wiring harnesses, etc. For such a large production site as Puebla, you can be sure that all major suppliers establish...

    15" wheels?

To clarify: JSW TDI has larger front brake rotors. 16" wheels only. JSW 2.5 and Golf TDI have smaller front rotors. 15" wheels can fit.

    Exhaust Flap TSB

Since I've had this valve replaced by the dealer outside of warranty, is it SOP for VW to reimburse me now for the parts and labor upon my request?

    Improved gas mileage!!

Warmer temperature helps. Warm air is less dense than cold air, so that means lower air resistance when you drive long distance on the highway.

Washer fluid comes out in the rear nozzle when I wash the windshield.

No, I was driving forward, and activated the rear wash and then front wash separately. This is a newly developed problem.

Washer fluid comes out in the rear nozzle when I wash the windshield.

If I wash the rear window and then immediately activate the front windshield wash, the fluid will come out back in a steady stream for as long as I keep pulling the wiper stalk. If I wash the rear window and then wait for a while (maybe 5 minutes) before washing the front, then the fluid will...
