Hey VolksFolks, IBW, I didn't want to get into the whole filter debate again (circa my 2003 Golf, Alice). I live in a very dry climate, and rarely see a lot of humidity. If oil cannot stop a mist of moisture (yes, I said oil) in my situation, then I'm at fault. The stocker filter is laughable...

Re: Belts slipping I was having the same problem when I still owned my 2003 Golf (Alice). It turned out to be a cracked alternator bracket, which was really surprising since it is a beefy aluminum casting. Hopefully this isn't the case with your car...good luck! -M.
