I’ve thought that might be the issue. When the clutch is slow to retract I can hear the fluid flow at a higher velocity as if it’s being even more restricted. Maybe there is some debris getting randomly stuck in the orifice.
My clutch seems to be not coming back up to quickly after it has been sitting. I had the system bleed but it has come back in about a week. I’ve heard and read about the slave failure. I’m bringing in the vehicle this Friday to be looked at again. Any thoughts?
We took VW’s buyback of $20k on our 2012 JSW MT with 80k miles. Turned around and paid $20k for a new stop sale 2015 JSW after the lease incentive in 2017. With the way prices are I could sell it now for what I paid in 2017. If I sold today it would be like erasing a decade of depreciation...
It’s the damn push button start. If you press it once before pushing in the clutch and wait for the glow plug light to go out. Then push in the clutch hit the push button start it will crank right up. I think that procedure works on an automatic with the brake pedal.
These are holding their value well. Especially with a manual transmission.

I did a quick what’s my car worth check on CarGuru’s and came up with $13k. With the wheels and rack accessories I’d start around $14k or so and see if you get any bites.
I found my buyback. It went to Michigan in the spring of 2017 and found its way to a dealership in Atlanta. Somebody is going to get a nice car. https://www.volkswagenofmarietta.com/VehicleDetails/used-2012-Volkswagen-Jetta_SportWagen-4dr_Manual_TDI_SportWagen-Union_City-GA/3346743293
Update: Dealership diagnosed a leaking water pump. When they went to install they noticed that the timing belt was starting to shred possibly due to pulley issue. Replaced timing belt and a faulty roller.
My 2015 GSW developed a leak around 20k. Didn't use a drop for the first 18 months of ownership but now I've had to top it off a couple of times. When I did my 20K service I could see dripping from around the crank pulley side. I was wondering what all the liquid was that absorbed into the...
With my luck the second I try to fix it the wires would short out and I'd end up causing more damage than it's worth. I'll brace myself for a big rate increase!:p
The Dealer was non receptive. Found out that State Farm will cover it under comprehensive. Filed a claim and uploaded pictures through the PocketEstimator App. Waiting on a claim settlement.
This evening I was curious what the engine looks like and pulled the cover off. I found a little critter nest. After I cleaned out the fur and chewed up insulation I notice a wire harness was gnawed on. Amazingly I have not had a CEL yet even with these wires looking a little thread bare...
