yea, I have a euro starter and spacer plate... It's a 240mm clutch/flywheel. If you wanna use the US starter, you'll need a 228mm clutch/flywheel combo Not sure about the crank swap... but I have a euro AFN and it fit just fine on my crank :)

I think my transmission is from a b5 130PD, you'd have to confirm with Franz. The transmission came with a spacer plate, so that the bellhousing would clear the 240mm DMF. If you're using the 228mm clutch, you don't need the spacer, cause it'll fit inside the bellhousing :)

My brother's 98 jetta's turbo just decided to start blowing oil into the cylinders, so it's time for a replacement. Looking for a nice, lightly used, some sort of turbo that will keep him running for another 100k... If you have something a little bigger, that will fit, I wouldn't be opposed. :)

Another vote for the socket style bolt extractors... I've even used them on non stripped triple squares, where I didn't have the right size available or was worried about stripping them.

Due to an improperly set torque wrench, I had my cam sprocket slip on the cam. Unfortunately for me, it slipped far enough to bend valves, smash lifters, ect. Good luck with your repair. :)
