Located in Elysburg, PA 17824. Figured I’d see if anyone is interested in an intake, egr cooler/valve and associated pipes off my 03 5spd ALH before I throw them out. All was in working order when removed. Not looking to ship. https://ibb.co/CJmtrNM

    LED upgrade options

There are a few good writeups on vwvortex forum showing the process I used to install Morimoto d2s projectors in a stock housing. Cut the stock reflector to accept a 4"x3" pvc bushing and then jb welded the projector to the bushing and eventually to the reflector. I used hot glue to installed...

    Blend door arm...grrrrr!!!!

Back in 2015 I had the same thing happen, driving along in the summer and all of a sudden I had full heat. I even think I bought an aluminum one from ECS tuning but never installed. I got the pivot and arm aligned/reinstalled and glued a short piece of like 3/4" heater hose underneath with 1/8"...

    Burpod Tuning

Started tuning with Burpod last fall and this spring after a new turbo and clutch I think we found a good recipe. I have a rolling hills rural 33 mile commute consisting of mostly 45-55mph back roads with a few stops. The last 8 fill ups have netted a minimum of 54.2mpg hand calculated and my...

    Help with dmf removal

245k and no sign of failure as far as noise. Clutch slipped on a hard pull 2-3 times, only reason for going SB and I wanted to turn it up more. If I had stayed stock, wouldn’t even have thought about replacing.

Tips for replacing an O2j. Thank you

I just had mine out 2 days ago to replace the clutch/flywheel. As mentioned, just tie up the drivers side axle, no need to remove. I used a big zip tie to the sway bar. Removal took me 1.5hrs and fairly easy. I did remove the passenger drive flange to make it easier going back in.

    Help with dmf removal

Yes, new SB stage 2 daily and 22# smf waiting to go in. I’ll just cut with a grinder to have access to the flywheel bolts.

    Help with dmf removal

Found a couple threads on myturbodiesel where others had the same issue. Looks like a big pry bar and if it doesn’t move the 4” grinder and cutoff wheel is coming out.

    Help with dmf removal

I’m in the process of replacing the clutch/flywheel on my 2003 Jetta. At the point of removing the dmf but appears the center plate has shifted which doesn’t allow me to get to the flywheel bolts. I tried spinning the center and using a punch as well to get it to rotate but seems pretty solid...

    Xman GT1752 Turbo

@454k30 how are you making out? Just logged another tank after some small timing tweaks from @burpod and got 53.1mpg

    Xman GT1752 Turbo

yes stock wheels. I have a set with Michelin premiers for summer and same set with Nokian hakkapeliitta r3 snow tires, both 195/65r15’s. I attribute some of the drop during winter from the snow tires. Most of my driving is back roads, few stops here and there with 45-50mph avg.

    Xman GT1752 Turbo

Hope you don't mind me commenting on your thread but my experience has been exactly as you described (better than I could). I've also been working with @burpod and hope your quest for "daily drivability" is goes smooth. It is hard to keep your right foot out of it for an entire tank;). I will...

    2003 Boost/Maf issue/questions

Short update. Car has been running great since cleaning the head, swapping to the PD150 intake and installing new DLC520 injectors. The biggest improvement has been working with @burpod to tune my car. If you are on the fence about getting your car tuned, don't hesitate to reach out to Guthrie...

    WTB Malone tune

I recommend getting @burpod to tune your car if you have vcds. I've been working with him now for a little after I swapped injectors and what a difference! MPG increase, car runs super smooth and plenty of power. You would be getting a true custom tune for your car, not just a stage "x" tune.

    Options for upgraded headlights

I use to wetsand/buff head lights every year and even clear coated a set but still would yellow over time. Lately I’ve been just using Jescar Powerlock plus polymer sealant every 6 months and have zero yellowing in the past 2 years.

    Options for upgraded headlights

You can also retrofit mini H1's in to the housing without cutting the reflector. Here's a link for a cheaper option. MK4 mini H1 conversion I will add that the additional extension out the back of my housing due to the d2s retrofit is only the thickness the bulb plug itself, maybe 1-1.5inches...
