4th on the waiting list at Stohlman (Northern VA) for a call back to schedule appointment in "a couple of weeks". Service Advisor said service will take 6 hours. They requested I bring "claim number" with me for the appointment.
Um, not even close.
Gasoline powered aircraft vent to atmosphere, with very rudimentary vent tubes. There's nothing sealed about them at all. There is no EVAP system. The tanks are very much explosive, in all phases of content.

No panty bunching here. I'm salivating over the chance that VW will get backed into a corner, and be forced to buyback my Gen 2 Touareg for nearly my out-the-door price when new.
I'd like to switch to an F-Pace or XC60. Gas, Hybrid, or EV.
35 gallons of urea for 10K miles? Nope. Check...
Actually, I was expecting to fill it more. I was surprised it went 10K.
10 minutes every 5K, which is every 3 months for me. Meh. I agree they should have put the filler in the fuel port like the Q5.
Finally, I doubt 10 minutes, twice a year, of your time , my time, or anyone's time is so...
Actually, word on the street is a "fix" for the Gen 2 ('13 and up) 3.0 is very probable. If they can fix the 2015+ 2.0L, then they should be able to fix the Gen 2 3.0's.
VW calculated both the restitution amount for the vehicles that will be fixed, and a buyback amount in the chance that the...
He got really bad advice. The AdBlue system is very sensitive to contamination. Even clean fluid that is expired (old) can cause problems. It uses sensors that measure the specific gravity of the fluid. That's what keeps cheap people from filling the tank with distilled water. It also...
You're not selling your car to someone off the street. You're selling your car to VW, under a court order and observation.
I always LOL at the "money in hand", backwards thinking types. You deliberately complicated this, when it could have been simple.

The Boxer (3.0 I-6) engine wasn't the source of the head gasket problems. The turbo 4 was.
The Boxer was a solid engine. I put 200K on a 2002 LL Bean Outback. Now it will leak oil around the valve cover and spark plug gaskets. A new kit every 100K fixes that. And the inner CVs literally...
