Ok sorry, what I should have asked is, how do I know what those two letters are for a 2004 PD, without looking at the current ECU in the car already? Is there a list for what those letters are for certain model years?

Can anyone tell me where I can find what the ECU part number would start with for a 2004 manual and also 2004 automatic TDI? the ECU part has to start with a certain two letters is that correct in order to work and be swappable with Vag Com correct?

Thanks Nigel. Yeah I've got a potential buyer, and have some rims, Alpine BT radio and like you say swap ECU potentially. Get a few hundred here and there.

Ok right. I do get a decent amount of blowby. That residue could be building up over time. I don't see the rub mark. I'll look again but no I don't think anything is through the plastic IC pipe.

I need to replace my MK4 Golf front grill & emblem. The oem original tabs are broken, flops around, and now VW emblem is coming out. Can anybody recommend a vendor for good stuff, experience re this? There's a bunch of stuff on eBay, can anybody comment re your experience, fit, look, etc?
