2002 Jetta Wagon - Airbag light on

Interesting. Thanks! I thought for sure, that I was going to have to dig into the wire harness. I peeled back the tubing on the shaft of the seat belt connector, and I didn't see anything remarkable. I'm going to have to start over tomorrow. I'm glad that I didn't start tearing the floor apart...

With the spring thaw, I finally got around to inspecting the seat belt connector, and I found some bad news. The electrical seat connections before the harness that goes under the rug, are fine. Rocker repair shops

I'm going to try to repair my rockers, by using the OEM steel front Rocker cap that mates up against the fender. It is VW part # 1J0-810-221 (JC 030 H04 Plate) (They come in pairs, and are pretty cheap!) I bought 6 of 'em, just in case there is more to the job, than I expect. :)

    Parasitic battery drain

My 2002 Jetta Wagon has a drain on the battery, that has gotten to the point where I simply disconnect the battery, when the car is not driven for several days. I'm fishing for straws here, but I was wondering if there are any 'usual' weak spots in the MkIV electrical system, where this problem...

    Passenger window fell off tracks

You can get it back into position, with a bit of dexterity. If you don't pop the door card off, (And it is a simple fix) don't use the window in freezing weather.

2002 Jetta Wagon - Airbag light on

I'm hoping that I will be able to repair the cable. I won't be able to take the seat out, until next week. (Road trip, tomorrow) I do have a pair of '99.5 Beetle seats. I wonder if the seat belt connector is the same???

2002 Jetta Wagon - Airbag light on

Everything that I've seen, refers to 'resistance too high'. I'm going to pull the seat, to see if there might be some mashed wiring. I DO have a parasitic drain on the battery....wonder if it is related?

2002 Jetta Wagon - Airbag light on

I dusted off my Vag-Com cable, and came up with: 00591 Seat Belt Switch: Left (E24) 33-00 - Resistance too low I hesitated on deleting the code, as I understand, that can cause bad things to happen, under certain situations. I figured it best, to further consult this Board.
