For those that have turned their TDI's in, what inspections are done? Obviously mileage and physical existence......do they do a scan for codes on the ECM? Thanks. Also are they scrapping the returned vehicles?

This may be answered elsewhere but I was reluctantly about to put my Passat into the buy back program and it appears I have just had the dreaded turbo failure at 116,000 miles. I guess I'm hosed to a degree. Anyone have any experience of this kind of situation?

2012 Passat. 98,000 miles. Just got the P202A reductant heater open circuit CEL. Another one bites the dust.

That is good news indeed. I`m at about 57,000 on my so far trouble free 2012 and was not looking forward to the expiration of the basic warranty. Hopefully by the time I hit 120,000 there will be some aftermarket options or a decent supply reasonably priced OEM turbos.

Sound like grounds for, or at least the threat of a class action lawsuit....heheeheh!:D
