Had the same issue. Stuck it on my dolly and hauled to the Walmart a block away, unloaded it and drove the last 1/8 mile. Walked back and got my $$ a couple of days later. I miss that car.
Just reluctantly turned in my 2012 Passat with 116,000 and a failed turbo. If the turbo had not let lose it would have been a much tougher decision. Replaced it with a low mileage E320 CDI. No DPF or DEF but not without its potential issues. Getting very hard to find a good low mileage one, been...
Thanks for the replies folks. The car is almost showroom condition bar the odd small door ding. I guess they don't want you stripping parts and pushing onto to lot for your payout. Haha. It's operable, runs but has codes and possible turbo or exhaust flapper issues. Sick to see it go but the...
For those that have turned their TDI's in, what inspections are done? Obviously mileage and physical existence......do they do a scan for codes on the ECM? Thanks. Also are they scrapping the returned vehicles?
Thanks Stealth, I guess it's operable!! I was just wondering what inspections they do when you return it, scan etc. Ironically I was concerned about the cel on for the adblue fault and just discovered it is covered in the new extension to 120,000. On the bright side I still have my 2000 Jetta...
This may be answered elsewhere but I was reluctantly about to put my Passat into the buy back program and it appears I have just had the dreaded turbo failure at 116,000 miles. I guess I'm hosed to a degree. Anyone have any experience of this kind of situation?
I ran Kumho's on my Jetta for about 160,000 miles after spending $$$$ on expensive brand name tires that were very disapointing. I got about 65,000 from the Hankooks and they were as described by everyone here. I replaced them with Kumho Sense tires and 13,000 later I am vey happy with their...
Very sad news. I spoke with Chris about extended warranties. He did not try and sell me anything, rather explained the benefits and gotchas with the program. Very professional and friendly chap. Condolences to his loved ones, huge loss for them. A highly respected professional in our community...
That is good news indeed. I`m at about 57,000 on my so far trouble free 2012 and was not looking forward to the expiration of the basic warranty. Hopefully by the time I hit 120,000 there will be some aftermarket options or a decent supply reasonably priced OEM turbos.
