Wow thanks. I do have the 15 golf TDI not used to having to specify NOT the wagon. I just want a bike rack and a small trailer to take trash to the dump so it does not need to be heavy duty but I know Curt does not have one yet I will let you know if one of the options you all surfaced works...

Sinister. My situation is unique. I have a long backroad commute 45-50 and I don't do much around town driving. My all-in mileage is now ~53 mpgs I think the key is that I am almost never in traffic and nearly never have 5 mile trips. Look for Gretchen TDI on Fuelly.

I was hopeful I might get a 700 mile tank this summer as I just missed last fall. I suspect I will get a 60 mpg tank sooner or later.

It could have been. I don't have any way to know. I have just been guessing that if the idle and fan are elevated when I park I should wait to shut down. Got a Scanguage for Christmas and got it set up yesterday so will have a better idea when regens are occurring.
