    Dangerous Problem.......

Yes. I thought of that too at the time. I had examined and cleaned the male and the female with contact cleaner a couple of time before declaring the ECU toasted. Another thing I did before that was replacing the fuel shut-off valve at no avail. I agree with you Tom, it's very danger and scary...

    Frozen Windshield

[ QUOTE ] POWERSTROKE said: Where can you get one of these windshield covers? [/ QUOTE ] This sno-free windshield really works and it only works if you put it on properly, but that's easy to do. I also stand the wipers up so they don't get glue to the windshield by ice.

    Titbit on the word "Touareg"

Titbit on the word \"Touareg\" If the word "Touareg" in German has the same meaning as the word "Tuareg" in English, 'The Tuareg are a nomadic tribe who inhabit a huge area of the Sahara. In the past they controlled the great camel caravans which crossed the desert to the Mediterranean...

    Squirrel and Delvac1

The oil works like a charm I tell ya. The only problem is it needs to be top up every few days. There must be a worn ring in the pole No seriously, the squirrels were very persistent in getting to the feeder. In doing so, rub the oil off. I am considering an alternative. Any suggestions? No KY...

    Squirrel and Delvac1

Just changed to snow tires - It's going to snow tonight - 5cm. While changing the tires, I noticed a little nest was built inside one (only one) lugnut on each wheel by jumping spider. I guess these jumping spiders are pretty territorial, and each claims a wheel for their own. Well, as you can...

[ QUOTE ] chetacer said: I think the Canuck's way would be to wrap duct tape around the pole sticky side out. Then take photos a day or two later to brag about the genious million dollar idea. [/ QUOTE ] I guess you are a Red Green follower eh?

    Squirrel and Delvac1

[ QUOTE ] chetacer said: A shotgun works too. I wonder if that would be preferred by some rather than 0.1 mil of motor oil. [/ QUOTE ] No doubt there's a Yankees way and there's a Canucks way of doing things. Until I find a bullet-proof birdfeeder, I will put away my shootguns.

    Squirrel and Delvac1

[ QUOTE ] hl649 said: 1 litre of motor oil disposed of on dry land can contaminate 1,000,000 litres of groundwater. YES, a little bit of oil on the pole could contaminate the water table. [/ QUOTE ] Not to dismiss your concern. But I think some of the folks here are a bit too intellectual...

    Squirrel and Delvac1

[ QUOTE ] jasonTDI said: You could use vasalene with just as good of results. [/ QUOTE ] Very true. I could have used butter, margarine, lard, PreparationH, or cooking oil. Either one of those will work. But if I did, I wouldn't be able to post in "Fuels and Lub" section legitimately. And...

    Squirrel and Delvac1

Squirrels are clever critters. I have tried and tried to keep them off the birdfeeders to no avail. I don't want the feeders to look like fortresses either. Today, I had a brainstorm. I rubbed some Delvac1 on the poles - the poles that supports the feeders. And I am in for a fun afternoon...

    Wake Up VW!!!

Nissan issues a recall on 2.5m vehicles of which a defective sensor in the engine management system could cause the engine to stall. A defective Relay 109 WILL cause the engine to stall. A defective MAF WILL cause the engine to lose power. How about it VW?

    more TDI's on the road?

more TDI\'s on the road? I am happy to say tdi are quite popular here in the coldest capital city in the world. I'd say over 30 percent of the vw I've seen here were tdi plus some unknown NB (they don't have badges). VW are very popular here in this part of town too. We have Passat, Jetta, NB...

Unplugging the battery/add a single din CD player

Not to hijack this thread. I have this question I was afraid to ask Last winter I disconnected the battery because it was weak and required charging. After putting the battery back, the radio (OEM) played without having to re-code. Why
