Did my buyback on Tuesday. The local salesgirl in charge could not get the audio/visual working on her Ipad, even with the help of an online IT person. She said it was a common situation. Pissed about 15 minutes of my time. Oddly there was a VW guy there 'just in case'. He took over. He did not...
My calculations were based on driving over 1042 miles per month.
But if I keep it under 1042 per month my payback amount won't have a mileage based change. Correct? I can keep going until December and not take a mileage hit.
Page 2 of my offer which I got today states:
You also will be able to to complete the buyback within 90 days of your acceptance of this offer and scheduling an appointment.
Frankly I have no idea what the sentence means. Are they promising me, or telling me?
Between acceptance and scheduling...
On my 57,600 mile Passat, the calculations I did showed a $539 drop in payment at 60,000 miles, and another $510 drop in payment at 65,000 miles. I jumped to get rid of it before 60,000 miles. Then I read this link on main VW page:
Your actual payment amount may change based on your vehicle...
I take the DSG is step 2 in the 'update' path?
I want an SEL. I find using Google Maps on my cell phone a pain in the butt. Much rather have it on a big screen. Seat presets, and the 18" wheels are other likes. I really don't care about the sunroof, but whatever.
I tried to get the sales guy to...
I looked at a new 2015 yesterday. I could not get him to drop the price by more than the $1000. MSRP $35,740 - $5000 rebate to dealer - $1000 discount +500 doc prep = $30,240.
I can get a certified 2015 w/20,000 miles for around $21,000. I explained the situation to him too. He must know...
Why are so many not returning to the TDI?
I'm about ready to turn in my 2013 Passat TDI manual, and will probably buy a 2015 TDI SEL Premium. (my wife has arthritis and never liked shifting).
It seems A LOT of TDI owners are not going back to the TDI. Why is this?
I've read there has been...
I run at 72 MPH on the highway. A 20 mile drive to work. I should try a couple of tanks at 65 MPH and see how much the MPG goes up. In Spring or now to try to keep my MPH where it is in the coming cold weather.
I have a 2013 Passat TDI and it does not work that way. As I said: sometimes the dash light is on, and sometimes it is off. Maybe I have a malfunction, but I doubt it.
I am assuming the DLR's are on when I see the dash DLR light on.
So are you saying the dash DLR light should also turn off...
My mileage is way up in the warmer weather. Best I've done is 775 mi on a tank. And 18.14 gallons. Right now I'm at 46 mpg. I reset #2 every tankful. I need to try harder, although I cruise at 72 to work, about 20 miles away.
I almost gave my passenger a heart attack when I drove another 50...
I have an internal 'invoice' from a local VW dealer pertaining to a 2005 Passat TDI that I'm thinking of buying. The Check Engine light is on.
Part of the invoice reads:
Diagnose Cel / Emission Workshop Light
93101, 3103, 3101 for Intake Flap Motor.
I thought the numbers were diagnostic...
The old Passat
Yes mine would smoke pretty badly at startup. It got me concerned on a personal health level as I had to get out of the car to close the garage door in the winter.
But the size of the car was just right, the legroom was impressive, and playing "the most miles per tankful" game was...
Currently driving a Subaru at 22mpg. I was averaging 43mpg with the TDI.
My question is this: Are the pre or post common-rail engines better on fuel mileage? I'm considering selling my car but don't know if its worthwhile to go with a newer Jetta/Passat or an older one (2006 or so).
