simple enough to just put switch in the rear circuit. If bat voltage dropped to 3v, the battery is most likely damaged as its not a deep discharge design so be prepared to have to replace it.

Below freezing, my golf s does have the heating element active turning heat to full and with fan to max speed but not active at higher ambiant temps. Temp gage will show moving off peg, then dropping back to peg within a few seconds. It takes 6-7 miles to reach center of gage.
Is there any explanation why at 35f my golf s 2015 takes 4-5 miles to get cabin heat but my 2015 passat sel gets heat in 1/2 mile? thermostat? wp sleeve? Since wp is getting replaced, anything I should mention? golf s has only 41k miles.
thanks, dealer says they are familiar with the fubar pumps and will give me a new tb as well. new pumps are supposedly improved. Anyone see what they look like? No sliding sleave, metal impeller?
I think my tb driven wp has just taken a dump, 1/2 gallon of coolant in three days. 41k and its still under 5/50 powertrain warranty. I hope wp is a coered item
