I see your point Dan - and thanks for seeing mine. But when it comes to money, I don't live by generalities and assumptions. Anyway, I didn't see any harm in asking a specific question that wasn't specifically covered by the language in the email. I'm sorry you didn't see it that way.
Best...
If it was, I wouldn't have asked.
The information posted before my question just states the obvious if one has already filed; it does not mention nor differentiate specifically between active/pending cases and those that have already been closed by VW and marked completed.
If I'm...
What about for those of us that have already had their claims completed and closed? I ask because I did not receive this email. I turned my car in on January 14th and my claim record shows as closed.
I had a Malone stage II tune on my Golf. Turned it in as-is with the tune installed along with all the other mods left on the car. Wasn't worth the time, money, or effort trying to revert everything back to stock.
I'll consider another diesel if Mercedes ever brings back their straight six oil burner. I know they're reintroducing the straight six gasoline engine sometime next year... not sure about diesel.
I've had my share of BMWs, and I don't think I'll go back.
The claims people will tell you that they don't have a timeline on when checks get mailed out. They too cut my check on the 21st of January but it's still sitting there along with yours and Chad's. What I did hear from VW Credit is that VWoA is batch mailing these checks in 1 month intervals...
Hey Chad, called the claims hotline today. Still no tracking number. I'm gonna wait another 10 business days and if no payoff by then, I'm sending in a payment and will wait for the overage check. But yes, this is really stupid of them sending out checks in 1 month intervals, especially since...
Which is why I parked my Golf at 135k miles and only drove it to the dealer at turn in. Sucks to be you bro. My only suggestion at this point is to replace the pump with a used one, clean the injectors, and hope it runs enough to limp it into the dealership.

Very nice. Need to buy some stuff for my S65. An extra 350 bucks is very welcome.
Any word on when checks will get disbursed?

Have you called Claims and gotten a tracking number yet?
I called this morning and since the system said I had a wait of 30+ minutes, I decided to use the call back service. Well, I got a call back around 30 minutes later only to have the !@#$ing system tell me in a very nonchalant voice that...
I called VW Credit this morning again. They again reiterated that customers need not pay for those who participated in the buyback and no longer have their vehicles. That said, she said the turnaround on checks getting received from VWoA has been averaging 10-15 working days so she advised to...
Still waiting for payoff.
Turned in on 14 January.
Spoke to VW Claims - they said a check was generated on 21 January but no tracking number. They "promised to escalate."
Next payment due 1 February.
Yup. Why would I put back a broken DPF? I still have all the parts in my garage, but I wasn't going to spend the time and effort putting everything back the way it was.
Was it proven that Fiat/Chrysler had a similar emissions cheat device installed on their Ecodiesel powered vehicles? I thought that was just hearsay?
Edit: never mind. Google is my friend...
