2002 MK4 VW Jetta TDI manual

No rust on the car- always garaged. There's a few small dings, scratches, but nothing major. The clear coat on the grille is beginning to peal. There are two small tears in the driver's side seat, one I covered with a small piece of duct tape which is a good match since the interior is gray...

2002 MK4 VW Jetta TDI manual

GLS. This diesel has 273,000 miles but mechanically is in very good condition- lots of life left in this little car. The glow plugs and glow plug harness were recently replaced. The battery, clutch and pressure plate were done in January and the struts, tires, brake pads, and rotors a couple...

    34MPG what to do

I had a 2001 Jetta automatic and got about the same mpg. I sold it and bought a 2002 manual. I did the adaptation advance- much better. I know there is some controversy about it but it's worked well for me. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=53139&highlight=adaptation+advance You...

    ConocoPhillips vs Mobil ULSD

I also had my sunroof vent open and windows half way down for the leg up to Michigan. I'm wondering if that could have penalized me 3.3 mpg?

    ConocoPhillips vs Mobil ULSD

I filled up at ConocoPhillips in St. Louis for my 651 mile road trip to northern Michigan, averaging 47.5 mpg running @ 75 mph, no a/c. I filled up at Mobil for the ride home, averaging 50.8 mpg running @ 75 mph, same route. The only difference was the air temp was about 10 degrees warmer...

Great GTG! Thank you Walt & Linda for the fine hospitality and digging up an extra cheeseburger for me. It was great seeing everyone this year and meeting some new TDI friends. And thanks to Frank for his advice on where to put the temperature sensor . Rolled into STL about 9:30 last...

    Old Navy's Fall '10 GTG

Hi Walt, I have a Pela oil extractor 6000 http://www.pelaproducts.com/ . It holds six liters so if my memory serves me correctly we may have to empty it out twice to get all the oil out of the Benz. I used to have a 300D Turbo which held 9 quarts. Chuck

    Old Navy's Fall '09 GTG

I really had a nice time. Got my ventectomy done with Dave and Mike's technical skill, learned about fuel injector rebuilds from Frank, and hung out with some 1st class people. The drive down and back to STL was very scenic. With the trees turning colors, prettiest time of year in MO. Thanks...
