Folks,
One of my daily drivers is my 2005 Jetta wagon (BEW). It's currently at 448k and running great. I hesitate to write that as I'm afraid something will happen.....It has the 09a automatic transmission. I replaced the solenoids around 225k as it was having shifting issues. Timing belt...
Knock on wood......I've got a 2005 Jetta wagon (BEW) with the 09a. It's at 448k. I replaced the solenoids around 225k? Just drained and replaced 3.25 quarts of fluid in it the other week. Still keeps on going.......

Zak99b5,
Ah yes......route 81 in the Shenandoah Valley. You are absolutely correct: heavy truck traffic and it takes MILES for one semi to pass another......if they ever do.

I used the same Gates hose on one of my BEWs. The first hose I received I just couldn't get it to connect unless I twisted it about 90 degrees. Sent that one back and received another one. Same issue. Frustrating........

Folks,
Here’s an update on the Audi TT → TDI:
After running a compression test on the engine with good numbers, I was initially going to install another VNT-17 turbo. I received some feedback from several members here on the forum and I eventually decided to go with a GT1856 and .260...
Folks,
I'm back on the road in the Audi TT -> TDI. I'll update my first post this weekend when I have time to sit down and write up all I've done. Stay tuned................

Folks,
Just following up: The 2002 Golf has the immobilizer disabled. I put a different cluster in from one of my parts cars and ........ the A/C works just fine. Fans spin, A/C compressor clutch engages, cold air blows out of the vents. I'm not sure what the problem is with the original...
Ok....an update. Drove up the hill to where my four VW mk4 parts cars are in the Golf with the AC on and the fan on 4. No AC. Left the car running while I'm getting ready to take the Fan Control Module off the "parts car Golf" when I hear the compressor kick on. I check the fans and they are...
Folks,
Still working on this problem.....Swapped compressors (from a good parts car I had) but compressor clutch won't engage or the fans turn on. Checked the fans through the thermo sensor connector on the radiator and they work fine. Going to jumper 12v to the compressor clutch to see if it...
Folks,
Oldest daughter was home over the weekend and said the A/C was cool but not cold. Connected the gauge set and the low side was reading low so I added some R134a. Got in the car and the vent temperatures were good. I pressed the accelerator and heard a "hiss" and a cloud of vapor for a...
Brian,
I pulled the crank position sensor off the Beetle parts car and depinned it from the ECU connector. Had to cut the black wire as it was bundled:
I think that's the correct one?
Eric
I'll strip as much of the connector wiring as I can out of the harness from the 1999 Beetle, just in case you don't get a complete harness. Where should I send it to? Thanks.
Eric
