So mid ways back on my 2013 TDI Golf exhaust, there is a part clamped into the exhaust system. There is a wiring harness connection. Going to it. What is that part called and what does it do?

So I have the VCDS and looking through basic settings, what does a basic setting mean when it says “adaptation”?

I’m thinking if it needs replacing, I may opt for a deletion and tune

When you say DPF time, are you referring to forcing a regen with the VCDS?

So, I had VW run diagnostics on my car, they tell me that my ECM is defective. They also tell me that there's not another ECM in their entire system available to fit my car.

Anyone have any experience with RennWerx in Arden NC. I need a skilled TDI technician and just would like your opinion

My relays really don’t match the document you sent. I’m gonna remove a panel underneath the steering column to maybe see better I wish I could send you a picture

Sport mode, Push button start, Navigation,LED lights, paddle shifters, not sure what else I really just need to know which relay is the starter relay. Hard to find any good info online

I didnt mention that my car has the tech package. Not sure if that makes a big difference.

I’d think it wasn’t the starter because in the winter temps when diesels are prone to slower cranking, mine did well. Although these VW cars never cease to surprise me. there’s instrument lights that just do not come on sometimes and when that happens, it doesn’t even try to start. no click...

Mine either tries to start, or doesn’t even try. There’s no stumbling or anything. When the starter turns, it cranks and runs flawlessly, but when the engine is hot or the ambient temp is like 70ish, and I press the button, it doesn’t even attempt a crank🤷🏽‍♂️

is the software just on the device when purchased or does it need to be loaded?

I see that they offer anything from the enthusiast version for $199 to the pro version for $1000+ would the enthusiast version do what I need? It doesn’t look like there’s anything additional that I’d need? Software?

I don’t have a VAG have been considering one though any advice on where to get a complete VCDS?
