Completely stock. That's probably why the original turbo is still in there lol. I was thinking of putting in a Stage 1 tune and maybeeeee swapping out the 5th gear to like a .700 gear, but undecided yet. It would just help with RPM on freeway (I live in a big city with lots of freeways) and more...
I've owned my '03 Golf for over 3.5 years now, and bought it at 190k miles from the original owner. I just did a "mini" loop here in California through the Sierra, and this car handled it like a dream. Went up to 8k+ feet over many mountain passes on highway 395 and others (highway 88 near...
OP, what about the EGR valve on this thing? Is it leaking oil through that small hole? Or did you delete it altogether? Might be interested in it too if available.
Bought a project V10 Touareg 2 months ago, 185k miles, right tandem pump was leaking. I decided to do the tandem pump change with the engine in place (it's possible). I started the engine with almost everything back in place (just the air intakes off), and I must have ripped some sort of coolant...
Posting this here because as many of you probably know, this specific gear ratio has been discontinued for awhile...
One was posted here several months back; guy had it lying around and never installed it. Looking for something in similar condition. I'd even consider one that's gotten 10k or...
He lives in Tuolumne County now, but was living here in San Diego when he was going through the whole debacle of trying to get it registered here in CA. And like I said, car is gone now thanks to a deer, so doesn't matter anymore lol.
Nice to see you still around here Matt! Hope OR is treating...
I only know about registering it in AZ because my old boss did that with his 2003 Boxster that didn't have the correct cat in it that was CARB approved. He bought it in Vegas where it was obviously Nevada registered. Dumbest part was that even with the non-CARB approved cat, he STILL passed...
Fellow CA residents, there are ways to get around this. Specifically if you live in SoCal, make a drive out to Yuma or Kingman and get your TDI registered in AZ. No smog check there. Sure it's a few hoops to jump through, but it's doable. Registering in South Dakota is possible too.
I might want to come with my BONE STOCK mk4 just to dyno it! I've been wanting to drive up to NorCal... I've heard and seen pics that the hills in East Bay are PEAK Windows XP right now and was maybe going to do a solo driving trip up there!
The thought of being in Lebanon, KS is a good in order for everyone to have a chance to show up, but true that it's not feasible with how small of a town it is. However, we can go to a bigger town not too far, like Wichita, and meet there. Thoughts?
