You are Correct! The Passat uses different rear LCA bushing mounts than the Golf.

yep - time to get out the laptop and start pulling some codes. I am clumsy at best with the Ross-Tech software, but will give it a shot and report back what I find.
Update - I have also noticed that I see a "Keyless Defective" msg in the MFI for a few seconds after before starting the car. Then the message extinguishes after a second or two once started. Has anyone else seen this?
As the subject line says - the thumb sensor to lock, and the "fingers-in-the-handle" to unlock has stopped working for both front doors. The key fob buttons still work as they should. Has anyone had this happen? Any ideas what the problem is or how to fix?

The LCA brackets on the Meyle set that I installed had the heavy duty (s3 style) bushing inserts. The holes just don't line up with the JSW mounting points...
Tuheeden - I reviewed a few more timing belt replacement videos. I agree, this is something than I can do myself without hesitation. And this way, I can install the CP3 pump my way, making sure it is installed properly (and the money I save on the timing belt, will pay for the CP3 pump and kit)
Yep, I enlarged the holes using a 1/2" drill bit. Still a tight fit, but it does work.
I removed and saved the VW LCA brackets from the original arms. I may at a future time, replace the bushing in the VW LCA brackets with solid rubber, and install.

I am contemplating the CP3 pump upgrade was I approach the timing belt interval (90K mi - 100K mi). Noticed that the auxiliary electric fuel pump is also deleted as part of the CP3 installation.
Questions:
1. when doing a fuel filter replacement, how are folks priming / filling the filter...
there is an article on this site somewhere that outlines how to clean the electrical contacts on these starter buttons. And the procedure works. I have cleaned mine once or twice now.
