I have a P0811 check engine light but the car shifts fine. There's a small amount of vibration at low speeds, but I don't know how much of that can be contributed to a 20 year old diesel. Overall I think the car drives fine. Reset code to factory settings hoping it was just a stored code but it came back on. I've read a few forums that make me lean towards a torque converter, but I suppose it could be a number of causes. Anyone have any insight or experience with this issue? It has almost 200k on it. If I will have a lot of money in diagnostics and various part replacements, I may be better off to swap the entire trans out. Any guidance is appreciated.

when did you last change your tranny fluid? Have have you checked the fill level?
