Engine swaps

Hey guys, so i had my little 1.6tdi clha golf running about 210-220bhp.
Worst case scenario happened - melted piston rings.

I want to know what engines fit in this car. I have heard wind of the 3.0tdi fitting in them… apparently but have seen little to no proof.

what else can fit in the mk7 diesels? Before i go and throw a CUNA into it?

also anyone planning on upgrading the 1.6tdi to stage 3… dont do it, just buy a gtd or 2.0

do they make a VW 5 pot diesel over there? 2.5 TDI from say euro van or something? that's be a nice swap.
