Wouldn't know. I've produced more energy than I've used for >9 years and the cost of sunlight hasn't gone up. My payment from Xcel for surplus has doubled from $0.025/kWh to $0.05/kWh. So in a way I 'pay' $0.05/kWh now since that's a kWh I don't sell..... basically ~$0.80 per gallon compared to a 50mpg ICE.
I know you're a troll and all, but in case you didn't see the title of this thread, here it is below. Also, this is in the VW TDI discussion area, subcategory TDI fuel economy. Not Tesla fuel economy.

Noticed that fuel dropped 7 cents yesterday. Saw tankers at three of the five stations that I drive by on my way over to play with the grandbabies. $3.82 for diesel. Think it was $3.45 for rug. At this rate, I might be able to afford to fill the truck by the Fourth of July!

Checking out GasBuddy and found Chevron in Essex, CA listed RUG $6.79/Gal. Needles, CA is even weirder - $5.99/gal D2 on I40 and just across the river in Arizona its $3.81/gal D2.

Here in SoFLo we got $3.46 RUG and $3.89 D2 in West Palm and $3.34 RUG and $3.52 D2 by the house in PSL

On Monday, February 28th, ULSD futures for April delivery to NY Harbor closed at $2.93/gallon.

As of 9:00 pm, in after hours trading, the same contract for ULSD is $3.68/gallon -- so an increase of 75 cents/gallon since Monday.

Fill your tanks. All of your tanks. $3.99 is going to seem cheap when most stations are charging $4.50 or $4.75 in a day or two.

Essex and Needles are also in BFE. I want to say Essex is around the Mojave Desert somewhere, because I know I've been there before. Trust me, neither city is a densely populated area.

What would be a fun comparison, is Ehrenberg, AZ, and Blythe, CA - they're both on the border of each other on Interstate 10. Trust me, there's a HUGE disparity.

Well that was short lived! Up 37 cents overnight to $4.19. Still on full in both vehicles.

Just looked at Gasbuddy for my area and know that it is really out of whack. Showing a 90 cent spread for diesel within 5 miles from my house. I know that's not real.

Spoke too soon about high price. $5.29 now. Has gone up about $0.15 per day consistently. Looking forward to $6.00 a gallon diesel.

that's still nothing compared to what we are paying here in Canada. Today's price at a station i drove by was $1.849 a litre which works out to roughly $7.03 a US gallon.

Actually about $5.52/gallon USD. Not far off what TDNation is seeing in WA state.

In Canada….. beginning of week was 1.639 per litre (6.23/gal). Last night it was 1.899/L (7.18/g). That’s a heck of a hike for 4 days, I don’t think there’s been a tanker truck visit the station I fill at in those 4 days…. Ugh.

It's "funny" how when the price of crude jumps, the cost of fuel refined months ago from cheaper crude also jumps instantly. But when crude drops (remember when oil futures were in the negative a year or so ago?), pump prices remain high.

This is interesting.

Lots of smoothing in the inflation adjusted (red) line, but basically it says we've been getting a good deal on fuel in recent years and we should stop complaining.

Diesel is up to $4.60 a gallon in West Michigan. There was station still at $4.30. Pretty sad I thought that was a “deal”

Lots of stations jumped to $4.349 or $4.399 today, but there are additional increases built into the price structure. I still saw a few at $3.89-$3.99 and I wished I could fill up but I just couldn't justify it since my tank was only down about 5 gallons from full.
