I purchased a GTB2260VKLR and just got it in the mail. It has stamped on it "GTB2060V". I just want to confirm that the 22 refers to the turbine side sizing? Is this the turbo that I ordered? Or did I get the wrong one? How could I confirm? Thanks everyone!

I could be wrong here, but isn't the 2260 built off the 2060? 2060 is the oem size turbo so wouldn't the 2260 be stamped with 2060 then machined to accept the larger wheel?

20 is 20 and 22 is 22. They are distinct frame size families. If the turbo is an OEM one, the 6-digit number (usually accompanied with another 4 digits), e.g. 123456-1234 will help trace what original application it comes from. GTB2xxxVKLR were equipped in the Mercedes-Benz inline-6 Diesels and have a distinctive sideways turbine inlet flange unless modified by cutting and rewelding to fit a TDI manifold.

The smaller 2060 is less laggy and probably better suited to a daily-driven TDI.

My turbo also looked like the one above by Tdi Meister until I modified the flange on the hot side

A ported head like Franko6 does? A beastly camshaft from Franko6 too? Oh heck, get both.
Hahaha ok so I'm talking to some racers from Poland going with a 22/65 and .360 nozzles and they are on the way now to find the head to match I have a friend that engineers diesels has for 50 years and we did the numbers in the cylinder.I am about the top of any air we can do in a alh without compounding turbos. Not trying to compound due to having to put liners in to keep the cylinder wall from splitting.

I spoke with the vendor. My turbo is a 2260 but has the 2060 compressor housing. I was able to measure the turbine to verify. Thanks for your help everyone!
