    real world EVs review

^^^^ turbobrick240, it is a step forward indeed. For exclusively city driving, are the prices of used (and even new) GM Bolts tanking to the point of being competitive against a used similar ICE vehicle to keep long term (8 to 10 years)?

    This is one ENGINE-ious family

[Source: https://www.morningbrew.com/daily/ ] This is one ENGINE-ious family Nikolay and Alexander Shkolnik, the physics dad and MIT grad behind LiquidPiston, are delivering the first major innovation to the internal combustion engine in over 100 years. And guess what? For a limited time...

    New VW diesel engine

Ok, it depends how you define a "few years". If up to 10 years there will be plenty of ICE new vehicles for sale. Granted, not light duty diesel vehicles but other fuel efficient choices such as hybrids.

2015 Passat: On the road with DTC P2563 = loss of power + loss of cruise control

I am the third owner of this 2015 Passat and, as far as I have researched, all dieselgate updates are completed and the vehicle is out of warranty regarding powertrain, emissions and such. Anything else I am missing?

Reuters: Scratched EV battery? Your insurer may have to junk the whole car

Ok, I understand you point OH. It looks to me that this might end up significantly slowing the sale of EVs if reparability is not address for the battery pack. I would presume insurance costs will go way up eventually.

2015 Passat: On the road with DTC P2563 = loss of power + loss of cruise control

Update: warm weather here in SE Texas and recently the flashing coil light came and limp mode again :( Then, a few days later, the engine light came with fault code P2564 (the flashing coil light went away). I have cleared the code with Torque Pro app but obviously the issue is getting worse...

Suitable oils for a PD 1.9 tdi pd 130

Yes good point. Here in North America the use of unsuitable (non-507) oils in PD TDIs , mostly by ignorant dealers, caused enough damage ($$$) that anything with 5W30 label is understandably frown upon. In my research, in Europe, 507 oils have given adequate protection to PD cams and, in some...

    New VW diesel engine

Our TDI's help by using less oil so it last longer, and there is more to go around for aviation (also diesel based) :)

How Many Miles Can a Car Last - article

Ok, that's a good clarification. I was more thinking how long, on the average, the first owner keeps a passenger vehicle in North America.

How Many Miles Can a Car Last - article

Yes I should have been more explicit. I could be wrong, but I feel in North America people hold to their cars less than 12 years on average.

    real world EVs review

Fair enough. Perhaps we can listen to someone FIRST and then search for what organization he belongs too. If we agree that we are becoming more interconnected exponentially as we go into the next decades then successful large scaling of mineral extraction will depend on successful worldwide...
