On the crank pulley there is a dot.. the dot can be used as a reference(youll have to look up details). the flywheel probably has the mark, its very hard to see sometimes and goes by the hole very quickly.

Check the door wiring for frays and breaks... May also be your door switch to see if its bad (Stupid $2 door switch), but i suspect crossed wires in the door jam

They probably quoted both inner and outers. $800 is because they had a special. Do the inners and outers at the same time if you can, trying to get the joint off the shaft can be a huge pain in the butt sometimes, but inners require special tools

I had a car where someone drilled one of these holes right through the bracket and put a nut on the back side with a looooong bolt. I cant remember which hole but took me a while to figure out why the bolt was not coming undone :|
