I did it way back then because I was seeing head soak in traffic in summer. And it was helpful on track days. With the car set up as it is now (VNT-15, RC3+, 11mm, PP357s) I don't think it's a necessity. But you might see a benefit where you live, if you ever head inland in the Summer. Less lag...
