Hey there VF. I think it's the starter making the noise too. Mine has been doing this off & on for a while. The odd thing is I pulled my battery & cleaned the battery terminals & the grounds under the battery tray & I have not heard the sound since doing this a month or so ago.

Is the warranty on the powertrain for a 2003 50,000 or 100,000 miles? If they are going to deny you warranty on the engine you need to make sure they put in writing what their reasoning is & you get a copy of it. I just don't see how a fuel filter that does a better job then the OEM filter...
