Today is a sad day for me. I'm committing to getting rid of my TDI. I'll save the reminiscing for another thread but here is what I have:

I’m such a noob with this kind of stuff. I have this kit from ECS that includes a relay and harness for their fog light kit (see https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/bumper-fog-light-kit-with-euro-switch/1jo998011/). Unfortunately both fog lights were destroyed by a load of gravel that fell off...
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread.
Did you ever have to revisit this issue? I isolated fuse #14 (using a different method described at https://youtu.be/QRso1A0VScw) as causing a 2.28A draw. Though, my drivers door was open at the time too.

First, I should say that I was nervous about removing the serpentine belt for some stupid reason. Getting the side skirt thing off was more difficult.
Anyway, the belt travels in a clockwise direction. After removing it and checking the clutched generator pulley (carefully inserted a flat blade...
At least I fixed one problem! ;)
Yes, turning the key to "ON" lights up the battery indicator immediately.
This will be my next project, I'll post an update when I have something to report.
Also, thank you for the clear instructions. I've been doing research and piecing together procedures...
Oh, one thing you may want to consider is dealing with those oxidized headlights. Skip the polishing compounds and go straight to a reasonably price permanent fix:

Clear headlights will not only be safer for...
