You should be able to use the MAF from the gasser. Should be around $80. However, from the threads, some folks that have done this report mostly good success, a few report excess smoke and a few get intermittant MIL's. There is a resistor mod that should eliminate the problems. For me it works A1.

A dead MAF will not prevent starting. The ECU will detect this and go into "limp mode", set an error code and turn on the MIL (check engine lamp).
