Will you replace your current TDI with another next time?

Still trying to decide. The salesman I work with is off sick today. Thanks for the input though

Is new diesel improved over 2003 1.9

The K in my past post was meant to indicate kilometres, yes. We used to do 50-55 but now that we have 2 cars we do less on the TDI.

I have 440,000K on my clutch on my chipped TDI. Glad I am not an engineer!

what is the coldest weather your tdi started?

-50C. Yep. That was street parked, with no plugging in. It's just about 13 years old and started in -38C last week, but not without complaint. But I am sad to say her days are numbered. I have never been this upset about parting with a "thing". Maybe it's because she has a name, "Plucky". Drove...

Will you replace your current TDI with another next time?

Well.. funny I should spot this topic. I bought a brand new 2000 Golf TDI in April 2000. My partner and I drove it to the first ever TDI fest and won a peoples choice award for how clean the car was.... an award we won again in 2008! Plucky is now nearly 13 years old, and has 459,500km on her. I...

Only 9.5 hours... I have not been to a TDI fest since 2008. I was at the first one in 2000..... maybe I have to go to this one! Jamie

    2008 Track Lapping events

Excellent, thanks! We have the Ted Powell Memorial Race weekend... more here: http://www.mco.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&id=3&Itemid=7 It's just outside of Ottawa at Calabogie Motorsports Park. That's the big one, for the year, but there's plenty of more accessible ones...

Oh, IRLP is so cool! With a DTMF pad you can talk to the world on your HT. Check it out.. and we can set up a time to test. Dunno if we'll make it yet.. JP started a business this year and it's still in the growth phase so he may not be able to get time off. Jamie

Anyone going who has an amateur (ham) radio licence? I just got mine (VA3JME) and if I make it this year, I will be using my radio the whole way down from Ottawa. Maybe if there's interest we could even use IRLP to hook up along the way? Jamie

ham radio - need advice/help routing power through firewall

Cool.. I just logged on to see if any TDI club members were hams, and I found a neighbour... well, in TDIclub terms anyway. VA3JME here in Ottawa. Jamie

    Toyota Hilux

I can vouch for that, having driven one here in Canada for many many years. It's what got me into diesels. It was an 85 2.2TD, and it was finally sold, but not retired just 4 years ago. I have no idea how many KM was on it. We used to call it "The Prototype" because it was so rare. Jamie
