We turned in our 27k miles, '11 Jetta TDI MT.
Great car for 5 years but we couldn't resist the buy out.
Seems like a waste for a fine, efficient vehicle.
What are they doing with these?
where are they going?
We turned in our '11 Jetta TDI MT w 28K miles, ( 15 minute process, very friendly and professional).
Great car but we couldn't pass up getting 95% of our money back after 5 years and moved up to a premium gasser.
Just curious as to what happened to the vehicle?
Seems...
Going to turn in our low mile '11 Jetta MT TDI in May, basically with the payout we've had a free ride for 5 yrs and are looking to upgrade our mule.
Audi A4 looks like a good fit with us and we may take our check to the Audi dealer.
Anybody heard of any special deals for TDI owners to...
We'll probably sell back the '11 Jetta tdi in the spring but still have a $500 Dealer coupon that expires in November.
Need state inspection, oil change in November and POSSIBLY new rubber for the bad months.
Feel funny about changing oil and putting new tires on a car I wont have in 6 months...
watched Motorweek/Cars.com test of mid size sedans, criteria a little confusing but the Passat was the winner. ( one can check it out on Cars.com site0
We're thinking of moving up a size if the settlement makes it worth while.( now '11 Jetta tdi MT)
I've been thinking Mazda6/MT but I...
pulled up to the Valets at a fancy wedding at a winery on the east end of Long Island...
"sir.. could you park your car yourself ?... the "stick" guy has the day off"
When we were shopping for our '11 Jetta tdi we tested a Mazda 3.
Nice little car with a lot of content ( this is when Mazda was overselling some new engine gimmick "zoom-zoom"
Drove OK but didn't have that German feel, especially at highway speeds
Good points all but consider this -
VW offers you purchase price less x cents per mile. There is a reasonable calculable number that would make you fell " whole" or a little better. No windfall or "pain and suffering", but you know that cars cost money to use and if your TDI turned out to...
I have trouble believing that anybody is going to be able to turn in their TDI and walk away with a chunk of cash.
VW desperately needs to recapture that money and have us leave with another VW no matter what the cost in incentives/deals etc.
One scenario is offering purchase price less...
This may have already been said, but in todays' WSJ opinion section our whole situation is laid out pretty well. ( sorry I can't post as link, my sub expired I think).
We are not polluting the atmosphere by driving the TDI. In fact displacing gasser miles is a net benefit.
NOx standards were...
Not a good comparison - C for C was a Democratic sounds good/makes little sense program that had a bone for the UAW. It didn't need to work it just needed to sound like it worked.
VW must get this right for its financial health and long term survival. With stakes this high, every aspect of...
Wouldn't start spending the $5k yet, until we get more real info.
Not to say $5k is impossible, but 'one size fits all' could alienate some owners further which is not what VW needs.
And what are the conditions? Can you still register your car if you don't get the fix.
Lots of...
