I daily (when the snow isn't too deep) a 2013 TDI convertible with a 6 speed. It currently has 34k +/- miles.

I agree, it is not the most reliable system in the world. However, my point was that there is no clear evidence of cluster replacement.

FWIW, he sent me a clean carfax on the vehicle. The pictures, to me, indicate a lower mileage. Unfortunately, I can't talk the wife into another B-4. I would love to get rid of the A4 auto and replace it with another B4, but she won't bite... yet. :(
