• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

Hello,
At this point, I don't have the time to part them out. Sorry about that.
I really need to move them away.
The salvage B4V is the best candidate for that and it was fully functional when it was rear-ended. Though since then, I have pulled some parts. Though the cluster is there and the long block is still together. The injector pump and A/C compressor have been removed.
Anyone interested in the salvage wagon would need a tow dolly (front suspension removed) at least. Though, it sounds like you would have 2 customers already.

Best Regards,

Ben

Hello,
Grey wagon battery took a charge and started first attempt and runs nicely.
There is some rust and a flashing glow plug light. But the A/C is nice and cold.
I really hope that someone wants this car!

Hello,
The Sedan will be on its way to a new home tomorrow, helping to support a runner.
The Grey Wagon has still not found a home. I am asking $800. It has 260K miles. The glow plug light flashes, but starts and runs fine. No radio at the moment. I have it, but haven't found it yet. I'd be glad to send it to the new owner as soon as I find it, I'll even pay for the shipping.
Follow the link to see some pictures.

The car is at Topton, PA 19562.
Cold A/C. Leather seats, door panels available, not installed.

I have called L&T to see what they will give me for it. I'd rather it go to someone who will drive it. But, I am out of time. It needs to go ASAP.

Ben

Well, the grey wagon has not been run in about 5 years, so I no longer know about the condition of anything. Though, I did find the original radio.
The green wagon was hit in the rear on the right side. It is missing some front suspension parts and the injector pump. Most of the glass is fine.

I would love for these to go to an enthusiast rather than a local junkyard, but it is time for them to go. A local salvage yard said that they would give me $320 for the totaled wagon and $350 for the grey wagon (updated 4:40 PM ET).

Does anyone have any interest in these older TDI's anymore? If so, make me an offer.

I have both titles in hand.

I have a borrowed trailer and am willing to deliver within a reasonable radius for a reasonable rate.

I would love to buy the storm grey wagon, but you're way over by Reading and that's a huge trip. If I could figure out a way to get it here without breaking the bank I'd do it, but transports now are big money. If I could get it even part way here that would help, my trip to Columbus IN and back about did me in.

I hope you find a buyer for them, I would hate to see this go to the salvage yard...fewer and fewer every day.

I'm sure that all of the B4's are 1Z, if I am remembering correctly. I do know that there was only one engine generation in the B4's.
About 260,000 miles.

I think that it's too rusty plus it has a broken windshield. 2 other people have passed on it, so I think that it's time to let this one go, sorry to say.

Isn't the rust pretty much confined to the front fenders? I know the photos aren't that clear but it doesn't look like the main body is that bad unless there's a lot of damage underneath it.

Still hoping someone buys it, a wagon is too good to waste.

I hope that this works.
There are rusted holes through the body in multiple locations.
The grey wagon has not run in several years, I would not make any claims other than it used to run in 2015 as it was my daily driver before I bought my Leaf in June of 2015.

I'll try to charge the long dead battery or jump it to see if I can provide a clear answer about whether it runs.

The totaled green wagon was sold to Nesters Autoworks – Car Dealer in Bally, PA this morning.

It does look awfully crusty, but probably not as bad as the sedan I bought a year or so ago, and even the sedan has no holes into the main cabin and no mouse problems.

I would be careful about starting the car, the timing belt is likely way out of date (60k OR 5 years which ever comes first) so what value may be there could be ruined should the belt break when you try and start it.

I bought a 98 Jetta a few years ago hadn't been run since 2012 IIRC, I declined to have the owner try and start it, and for good reason, I found later that the belt was degrading and cracked. I always just assume the engine itself is ok unless the reason it was parked was due to coolant consumption or other such things, but if it was just parked while it was running that doesn't seem like it would mean the engine is bad.

OTOH if you try and start it and the belt breaks then the car becomes a boat anchor instantly.

I wish there was some way I could buy this, I hate to think of it going to the scrap yard, but the distance is the obstacle for a pickup. I have the truck / trailer but that's a pretty long haul just for this and fuel prices are a third higher this year than last and probably going higher.

One more nail in the coffin - when I put power to the battery, there was smoke coming from the cluster - I suspect the capacitor issue discussed in a recent thread.

I think that it's time to let this one go. It's been sitting for too long plus salty PA roads have taken their toll.

This will go to Nester's also.

so if still available,

as you recall, the grey wagon did start and run, didn't use oil or overhear/use coolant? I could use the motor and B4V parts, and could pick it up.

Do you think the rear tires would make a 300 mile trip (I'll use a tow tolly)

thanks,
Steve
