I have VDS-PRO up and running on an old laptop with a serial port. Bought a serial to OBDII cable from here:

When I try and connect to my 22001 or 2003 Jetta CCM, it does not find it.

Does anybody have a cable that is known to work with VDS-PRO (not VCDS) that they will sell me or know exactly where to get one? Or if someone has one, can you take a picture of the chips on the circuit board in the obdII connector so I can determine what chip I need exactly?

Not sure if it'll work with vds pro, but the older unlimited VIN Ross-tech cables have a option to use as a pass through using a driver available from Ross tech. There's into on this thread: Vag-tacho vds-pro

I also recommend Greg's program. I haven't used it for ccm yet, but I've read the skc on several cars already.
