Ok so I’m not sure if anyone has ever really heard of this guy or not, but he’s live in Spencerville md and tunes a lot of different types of cars, he did my 2002 vw passat 1.8t, and recently just did my 2013 vw passat tdi, I’m making this post for other people looking for options to get there car tuned, he charged me $600 for a stage 2 full delete, (just software) and i am going back he’s going to put a dsg tune on remove my rev limiter, and a pop corn limiter, and included in the $600 btw, I’ve saw a few forums from a long time ago that was pretty negative about this guy, but I’ve had no problems, he also sold me a handheld device so I can flash and reflash whenever I want, wish I could compare my car to some Malone Tuned cars but anyway just making this for a informative post, will report back with more info as soon as u get more info.
UPDATE
So it turns out he doesn’t have any way to tune my specific dsg, po me off because he said he could, and he said it’s not worth it to him to buy the tool to tune a car one time as he barely runs into a ckra, his tune does seem to run fine but I believe I have the torque limit in my dsg limiting the torque.... so in conclusion wound of been better of with Malone... also this guy acts like a jerk when you ask him to make something right or to do honest work....

I had a 2001 Jetta TDI that had that brand software on it some years back. It seemed to work fine. Maybe a wee bit smokey but only when you really pushed it.

Who is "he"? The person I bough the car from stated that it had a Speed Tuning USA remap in the ECU. I have no idea who the actual person was that did it. I have no idea who owns or operates that company.

I had their tune in my V10tdi. Not smooth and never felt right. I tuned cars back in the late 80’s and early 90’s so I understand the emulation software. When the maps were reviewed it was a total hack job. Fortunately we have a real tuner in PA to work on our cars if we choose. If you don’t understand the tunes you may be happy. There are a lot of poorly tuned cars driven by people that don’t know any better and they seem happy....

He told me he uses a set of euro tuners from winols database, and I may consider getting a specialist to look at my tune and see what it looks like, just so I can help other people (and myself) determine if this guy is legit, or I could just get a dyno, and then try to compare it to a Malone tune, of course every car will vary but it would atleast give you a idea, accepting donations for this fyi, 😁 he was a lot cheaper considering it was 600 for everything dsg tune included I would of spent like 1100 or so at Malone, and this guy does have very good response time I can call him anytime and he’s very flexible, also as I stated I haven’t gotten the dsg tune yet Because he said the software isn’t quite ready yet,

From what you have written, it sounds like the tunes he uses are uploaded from the winols site. He says you should see a specialist: BIG RED FLAG there. The DSG software is available, he sounds like he is in over his head. Which hand held device do you currently have? If I were you I would run away from him before your engine explodes, and get a tune from someone from this side of the ocean. You mention Malone, a lot of people are happy with tunes they get. Kerma also does tunes. VWMikel is also a well respected tuner as well; Sales@tdtuning.com

He never told me to see a specialist, I said I may consider having one look at my tune to see if is a reputable one, and for the dsg tune I told him that other tuners have it available, and tbh he told me that he uses winols database and that they were working on it and that they were using alien tech or something idk and yeah that was a but suspicious, and I said that they should have it by now, and I asked if it was gonna be a long time and he said he doesn’t think so I guess I’ll just have to see but I’m gonna do some research on winols and such, the hand held device is power gate 2+ I think

Edit- also I was watching when he was reading the dsg or trying to and I watched him go down thru it and we both looked and there was no option for my exact one mine dsg is a 250? I think he said and there was no option for my car he tried a few others and it failed to read it, and then he told me he’d contact them and ask so I left and after that he told me about it not being ready yet.

My apologies. When I read "I may consider getting a specialist to look at my tune" I obviously misunderstood what you meant. I will say looking through a "database' to find a DSG tune would make me nervous, as you don't what the "tune" contains, and it could possibly grenade your transmission. I wish you well.

I missed the Spencerville, Md the first 2 times I read your post.
Did you run any logs before or after? Generally speaking, logs are run before the tune is installed, and then after that the tuner can write a tune for your specific vehicle, not a,"give this one a try." The V10 TDI engine is very intricate, and tunes for them should written for each specific vehicle. If you don't run logs before and after, some parts of the generic tune could cause be causing problems you have no idea of until it is too late. Just my $0.02

I can flash back to stock at anytime with the handheld device, but as far as the logs I did not check any the engine statistics, I have a ultra gauge scan tool so I actually can look at some of that stuff but I have no idea what it should look like, but what I do know is when I deleted my car I unplugged a crap ton of sensors and haven’t got any cels, he told me if I did get a cel then I was supposed to tell him what the code was and he’d send me a updated file to flash my Ecu and he would totally erase the code.

You should run from this guy! Sends you a bad tune and then asks you to send the code so to shut off the warning of the bad tune. A real tuner will get your car running properly without eliminating warnings.

I didn’t get any codes..... he said if just for some reason I do he said he could erase them.... the only reason warnings need to be eliminated is because I deactivated the def and every other emission related software

I will once again, emphatically state you need to find a real tuner. Your ultrascan tool doesn't give you the right readout. "If a light comes on I will delete it, after you send it to me.." VCDS tells exactly what is wrong.Going under the hood and unplugging sensors is bad juju. You could possibly burn something up before you plug the sensors back in. If you don't have logs-like I said before- you have no idea where you are and where you are going. Please take this as "constructive criticism" not an assault on you personally. I would almost kill to have a v10 TDI. There are decades and decades of experience here, and we are here to help, and some of us by learning the hard way.
I am one of those that learned the hard way, read: I spent money in the wrong places more then once.

Yeah I get your concerned, and those sensors I unplugged were for the egr def etc... which if you remember I stated that I deleted that all... that is why it needs to be deactivated, but I do know a guy that tracks vws and he would gladly hook up to my ecu, but I do think your over reacting I do not think anything is at risk, but I’ll still check
It out and let you know how it goes.

You may certainly think that I am over reacting, and I am okay with that. The guy that "tracks vws" what is the system he will plug into your TDI? OBD11, or something like that? I solemnly hope that you are one of the lucky ones, one whose engine doesn't become a statistic of failure.

How far away from "Amish Country" are you? I have a friend who is a huge TDI nut, maybe he is in Lancaster, I am not sure. He has a badass Golf TDI.
