Hey Folks,

First of all I am not sure if I posted this in the correct forum.

I am here only intermittently. have a 2013 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI with 107,000 miles

I did not drive the car for about a week. Today I got a check engine light. So I hooked up my Ross-Tech HEX-V2 cable and ran the VCDS program.

Here are the codes which came up:

008213-Intake manifold flap position sensor (Bank 1)
P2015-003 Implausible signal- MIL ON

Fault priority 2
Fault Frequency 7

01038 Central locking Thermal Protection
000---Intermittent
Fault Priority 6
Fault Frequency 2

What do I have to do to fix these problems?

Thanks for any helpful advice

If you have had the fix, take it to the dealer as they should fix this under the extended warranty. Central locking is an intermittent fault and should clear when they fix the other. If it comes back and sets the light again they should fix that as well. Unless it is some known error already.

If your car has not had "the fix" (IOW: no warranty), look here:
https://www.dieselgeek.com/collections/common-rail-tdi-p2015-manifold-fix

The P2015 is an easy known fix.

The other fault is "intermittent" and most faults of this type are just cleared and they usually do not come back. If it does come back, deal with it then. It is not the source of your CEL.

Have Fun!

Dealer then as it is covered. The Dieselgeek fix above could be installed afterwards to insure it doesn't happen again. Easily installed or removed if needed due to later service. Don't want them to deny warranty due to anything, so it may be best to remove before they look at it if that is needed. $65 worth of insurance after it is fixed.

I want to thank everyone for helping me with this situation.
It was covered under the extended emissions modification warranty

They replace the intake manifold

Thanks again!

Yeah, what a waste. Dealers make a lot more money replacing the whole manifold rather than just installing a simple fix.

Spend the $65 and install it now and never have to worry about it again.

Lightflyer is right. The Dieselgeek bracket not only fixes the problem (if you already have it), it also will prevent it from ever occurring again. Your new manifold has the same cheap plastic part that will wear out again. If you plan on keeping the car $65 is cheap insurance.

Have Fun!
