Has anyone turned their car in on Saturday? My wife's car is going back this weekend and I just wondering when we will see the Chase email and money. My assumption is that the email will come Monday and we won't see the money until Wednesday.

I turned in my car this past Saturday, and surprisingly got the email at 11:13 last night (surprisingly since it was a bank holiday). Didn't see it until this morning to have the funds transferred to my account--I expect they'll be there by tomorrow, but unsure if they'll be available today.

Back in December, I turned in another car on a Saturday. Got the email Monday evening (a bit earlier), logged into the Chase website to send the transfer right away, and it was available in the account the first thing Tuesday morning.

So you should definitely see the money by Wednesday, but it could be as early as Tuesday, especially if you're up late Monday night.

I turned my 2013 Passat in 25min ago at Pohanka of Capitol Heights. Got about $500 deducted due to excessive miles (50,318). Transaction was flawless and took about 10min total. Guess I'll wait for the EFT email now.

Turned the golf in yesterday (saturday 2/25). Took all of five minutes, if that. Took me longer to remove the plate. My wife liked the alltrac but doesn't want to consider a vw for now.

Chase email received Monday (2/27) around 11:30 pm.

Turned car in 2/16/17. As of today my car hasn't been paid off and I have not received email to start bank transfer of money.

Getting cranky.

Call the claims hotline to advise and request status. Something's definitely amiss. If that doesn't work out for you, contact class counsel. FWIW, I turned in same day as you and I'm 100% wrapped up as of yesterday.

Did you receive an email receipt at time of turn in?

I have called three times to the hotline.

One woman said that the bank had been mailed a check to pay the loan off. Gave me a fedex tracking number that lead to a 2 lb box delivered to Oshkosh. I think that may have been incorrect.

I have been told that I should check my spam folder each time I called. I was told NOT to check my email on my phone as that could mess things up (***?).

According to the report from the independent supervisor that someone posted yesterday, your call can get routed to at least two different call centers depending on your needs. The basic level Ankura agents don't have access to much more than basic info; actual VW reps (if I understood that correctly) should be dealing with higher level tasks such as your problem. Exploring all the available phone tree prompts may be required. And you can always ask the person you're speaking to.

But at this point, requesting counsel's involvement sounds like the better remedy.

Where do I go for that contact number?

Turned in 11' Golf yesterday at 12 noon. Took about 5-10 minutes. I was told 2 days to hear from Chase and another 2 days after I submit my info. to receive the funds. Haven't heard from Chase yet.

Interestingly, the person before me did not have his title and they would not let him close without it- Maryland issues and sends titles to everyone. She said her marching orders are that she needs a title with every case folder. He went home to look for his title. The settlement specialist did say that he could come back later to complete the buyback without making another appointment. Also, she said that she has the ability to leave the case open for a few days past the appointment which is helpful if that other person ends up needing to go to Motor vehicle to get another title printed...

Despite the at times chaotic / disorganized nature of the buy back, the closing checklist is straightforward and not asking for anything that hasn't already been submitted earlier in the process. It's baffling an owner could show up unprepared.

Wow. Still waiting on payment for mine. They paid the loan, but nothing else yet.

This really sucks.

You had to have submitted a scanned copy of the thing early on in the process, so how the heck do you get this far without a title in hand?

2013 Passat SEL Turned In Finally

Just turned in my 2013 Passat SEL TDI on Mar 10th (Friday) at 3PM; Have yet to receive the EFT email; perhaps because it was a Friday? Anyone else do their turn-in on a Friday and have the same thing happen?

Thanks,

Karl

Yep, Friday turn in and the Chase email hit on a Sunday at 5:26 am, during Presidents Day holiday weekend. Did you receive your email VW receipt at the close of the appointment?

And still no EFT email for me. In two days it will have been 1 full month since they took my car.

Loan paid off and excess money deposited by my bank into my account last night!

Documents uploaded: 10/12/16
Documents marked complete: 10/26/16
Called claims line: 11/14/16 – They are getting slammed with claims and have no update for me.
Called claims line: 12/3/16 – Same response as first call. Decided to just give the process a couple months before calling again.
Email from VWGOA: 1/16/17 – VW claims they can’t get my loan payoff amount from my bank.
Called claims line: 1/17/17 - They told me they tried to contact my bank twice in December to get payoff amount and were not successful. My bank said they were never contacted. Claims rep gave me a fax number to have my bank fax the payoff amount directly to them.
Bank faxed payoff to VWGOA: 1/18/17
Email stating I have an offer letter: 1/21/17
Letter notarized and submitted: 1/23/17
Email stating offer was accepted and to schedule an appointment: 1/23/17
Scheduled appointment for 3/4/17 first Saturday available at 10:30 am: 1/23/17
Appointment reminder Email: 2/26/17
Turned in Passat: 3/4/17 – 10-minute process if that. Claims rep said I should see an email from Chase in the next 3 business days.
Email from VWGOA: 3/4/17 – Claims process receipt – Detailing amount of money they are paying me and the amount they are sending to my bank. EFT timeline and notifying me to check for JP Morgan Chase email in the next 3 banking days.
Email from JP Morgan Chase: 3/6/17 – JP Morgan has sent you a payment. Quick and easy link for setup of the EFT transfer. Interesting Note: Accept by 4/5/17 or it will be canceled.
Accepted EFT: 3/6/17
EFT hit my bank: 3/8/17
Loan paid off: 3/14/17 – Loan overage payment deposited into my account by my bank. 4 days before my next due date. : )

Buyback scheduled for Tuesday, 3/14, with Stella the Blizzard on the way.
The VW rep at my dealer agreed to meet to complete the buyback on Monday, the process took all of 15 minutes, and the EFT reached my account this morning.
Very efficient process (at least this one).

PS -- sad to see the tdi go (a 2011 Sportwagen manual)...had 117k miles on it, and planned to keep it another 150k. Getting used to a new Golf Sportwagon S auto.

Still waiting.....

I received and accepted my offer on January 13th. I'm STILL waiting for a date to turn in my Jetta TDI. I've called VW and have gotten the runaround. I've called the lawyers, still waiting to hear back from them. It's 2 months and thanks to coolbreeze's handy spreadsheet, I appear to be a significant anomaly, at least I hope no one else has been waiting this long. Any suggestions? Clark Howard? I'm extremely frustrated, and that's putting it quite nicely!:mad::mad:
