looks right to me, although it does look a bit late in the revs. The crossover is at 5250 meaning the scaling has not be adjusted.

hp=(trq*rpm)/5250

well then what is the best i can do with what i have.
car has
1722
pp764
3 bar map sensor
eurojet fmic
3" omi
pd150 intake manifold
kerma tune
arp studs, (cheap insurance)
vr6 clutch and g60 flywheel

later this summer
peloquin diff
sbc endurance
colt stage 2 cam
what are you doing with your intercooler? stock?
looking at those mods i would expect 160-170whp
add an 11mm pump and you could expect 190whp might need a lift pump aswell.
the list looks great to me.

i wouldnt get too caught u in HP numbers

edit
my mistake i see the eurojet in the list now.

i have the stock intercooler and everything else that goes with it in a box in the garage. i have no need for it at all though.

forgot to add
i am looking to get an 11mm pump also.

i guess the double edged sword would be i would still like to get my 48-52 mpg

Hey ill take that. But when i look at stock parts that have been damaged in a upper 190hp or 200+hp car i tend to conclude that it is either heat, PCP, or RPM.

Ive seen well over 5k rpm a number of times in my car, while i dont to it regularly it happens, and i dont see many tuners going out past 5500 aside from full race tunes. I dont think the reputable tuners have a bad rep for letting customers spin things unreasonably, although im sure there have been cases. This only really leaves a few culprits in many cases.
One issue is that the internals of the ALH IP do not operate well above 5k rpm.

When the engine is above 5k rpm, the Cam Disk starts to float on the Timing Rollers. This puts too much pressure on the Plunger Spring and can cause the Timing Rollers to start to pit and wear, as well as cause scoring on the Cam Plate. In extreme cases if pump is already well worn the Plunger Spring can fracture. I have seen the end results of these instances and they are not pretty.

This is not to say that you can't go to 5k or beyond, just don't make it a hadit or live there, you may not like the consequences.

You can still get about 50mpg (ish) with those mods. MPG is all related to the effort your right foot places on the peddle:cool:

I drove from Toronto to Portland Oregon with my mods and averaged 51mpg on the trip while cruising between 75 and 85mph. (I do have a 6speed manual though, so 85mph in 6th gear is about 2300rpm:D)

Car is not laggy at all. The shape of the curve is affected by how the operator sets ramp-up. More load means torque sooner but heat soak sooner too. He was trying to keep things cooler for the best possible HP number IIRC.

If you drive my car (and lots of folks here have) you'd find it very responsive at low revs. As an aside it's had RC6 for four years, done a bunch of track days, and the engine's never been opened up. 261k.

I have to agree with all on the stock internals I lost rod 3 out the back of mine in Nov 2011 got 216hp out of it but I feel 190hp is safe.

well then i wont get all held up on 200hp. i feel like 180-190 should be a reasonable # to hit. later down the line when i want more i will do the whole job at once rods, pistons, ect.

the numbers came from my buddies dash dyno. the meter was within 2%+- when he tested it out on another car he has, so i feel that it is good for a rough estimate. but i think that the torque reading was a little high

I got 191hp/325ft-lbs with an 11mm, ported head, 17-22, PP502's and RC5... I had an unknown issue where the power curve dropped sharply at 3700rpm so that's where the 191hp was made.. It would've been over 200 if it didn't fall off.. I think my lift pump was failing at the time since it wasn't consistent. Sometimes it pulled a LOT harder up top than others..

That's a low trq number for such a high hp number in a rotary pump ALH.

I would have suspected around the 350+ range.
I'm trying to remember when I've seen an ALH do over 350 ft./lbs. on something other than a Dynojet. JoeTDI's car may have.

My own ALH hit 351lbsft.......all the right mods plus a cam.

Yeah I was having some of what I think were fuel related problems anyway.. See how the graph drops like a rock above 3700? Add to that I only had PP502's.. The newer (smaller) PP502's..

I have a feeling it may have been something inside my injection pump since I think the 03 with the new engine is doing something similar.. I'm using the pump that came off the 99..

I guess you really can't complain though, high torque numbers tend to blow up gearboxes :)

A lot of blow ups are down to driving style......my motor 130k miles and still on the original gearbox......never really been flogged in 1st gear.....

If you don't flog it excessively, the gearbox will likely survive. Otherwise, you may want to start a savings account to buy replacement parts.

I never broke any drivetrain parts with 380 wtq.....so you should be fine. As far as engine parts, s long as the engine is set up well with a good tune, you should be ok....unless you are racing.

I have a 17/22, pp520’s, 11mm pump (car was an automatic before I converted it to a manual) omi, pd 150 intake, 3” turbo back, upgraded SMIC, 3bar map, 30 psi tune custom rocketchip tune. What do you think my car is making? The car only had 102,000 on it when it was built.

Wow, old thread. Funny to read stuff about my car from 9 years ago. To answer your question, my guess would be 160-170 HP.
