Using the above three words in a search does not turn up the result that I seek:

Can somebody please tell me what fuse a '96 Passat TDI uses for the windshield wipers? I don't have a Bentley.

This morning a member of my household attempted to run the windshield wipers while they were still frozen to the windshield, and now that they're unstuck they don't run at all. I suspect it may be as simple as the fuse, but before I start rummaging around in the fuse box, I thought I'd see if I could find out which one is the possible culprit...

Thanks in advance...

Hopefully someone has a manual available and can answer your question for sure, but did you know that there is a fuse key on the fuse cover itself? They are also listed in the owner's manual. Hope this helps. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

A fuse key on the cover? No kidding. Strangely my first instict was to turn to the TDIClub forum rather than the car itself. I'll check it out, thanks. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for the post. I managed to find the fuse on my own, although I initially started from the wrong side (crazy me, I figured the Germans would print the key in the same order as the fuse layout...). Anyway, the fuse was blown and I swapped it with the fog lamp fuse for the time being. The wipers work once again.

Awesome, wildhare, thanks for putting this up. No telling how many people this will help in the future.

MITbeta, glad you got working again. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
