Try http://www.vagcat.com. The part number for my vehicle appears to be 038145209E.

Check the fuel lines going to and from the tandem pump before you replace it. What looks like a leaky pump could just be bad lines.

The coverage is roughly mid to late year 2004 and early 2005 BEW engine code. Other PD engine codes may be covered as well. Its by VIN number.

Default oil filter which end goes up?

The tdi filter (2003 Jetta TDI) has a ledge up inside on one end but not the other, which end slides on the tube first? Thanks, first oil change. Thanks Troy

What I think you mean is the plastic oil "dam", that holds some oil inside the filter after the engine is shut off. That "dam" needs to go on the bottom, otherwise all the oil would drain out. Without the dam, it would take another 1/2 second or so for oil to reach all the top end of the engine.

mogaf-
I believe your engine has a vacuum pump operated by the camshaft. On my ALH motor there is also a reservoir.

You may want to start your own thread on this as this is getting off topic. I left a ratchet on the crank pulley bolt during a test start post TB job. It removed the crank pulley, resulting in broken TB symptoms. This was at idle. Damage was 5 bent valves - 2 intakes, 3 exhaust. 4 lifters were visibly destroyed, though I replaced them all. Cam and low end were fine.
