Re: Who has a Vag-com, scan tool, and where?
I have one and am in the Denver area. (Colorado).
(My portable computer is borrowed, however and it is now not with me. Someone needed it for work! Sheesh.)

Re: Who has a Vag-com, scan tool, and where?
Is there anyone near the Twin Cities area?
If not, I might consider getting one if my wife would let me.

I have the VAG-COM software, Uwe's interface cable and appropriate notebook computer to hook everything up and scan anywhere.
I will be glad to assist forum members in the Toronto, Ontario area.

Re: Who has a Vag-com, scan tool, and where?
Question: can you change engine parameters with the vag-com software?
What's that price on it?
I might consider getting the software for my laptop.

vag-com is still some beta-esque but Uwe is getting closer.

Re: Who has a Vag-com, scan tool, and where?
I have VAG-com software/cable and an old version of VW-tool and a notebook PC.
I am located near Omaha.
FYI: got a note from Uwe, that a new beta release of VAG-com is due about the end of the month. Here is his reply to a note on the e-groups list..

Although this is obviously one of the "major" VAG-Tool functions, there
hasn't been much call for it, and it is not implemented yet.
I've looked at what's necessary to do it, and it appears pretty
straightforward. However, I don't think it will make it into the new Beta
Release scheduled for the end of this month. This Beta will have
Data/Measuring Blocks, Basic Settings, and Adaptation. These functions
(which everyone has been clamoring for) were the "hump" in developing the
VAG-COM software. Interpreting the raw data that the ECU sends into
something meaningful to present to the user was a real nightmare.
Now that I'm over this "hump", I feel confident enough to publish a schedule
for implementation of the remaining functions. Please see: http://www.Ross-Tech.com/vag-com/vag-functions.html.
I think this is a conservative schedule, in other words, one I can easily
meet. I'm really hoping to have a Output Tests done in November, and a
non-Beta "1.0" release ready by the end of the year.
Plans for the 1.0 are that it will include data-logging (in a format you can
bring right into Excel so you can make your own graphs), but it probably
won't graph data in real-time or do the "00 Scan" / Auto Test.

Re: Who has a Vag-com, scan tool, and where?
Valois recommended to me the Vag-Com® in a recent phone conversation we had. I purchased it and when Uwe says overnight delivery, it is! Haven't played with it yet as I am waiting delivery of my laptop. As soon as I learn how it works I'll also be glad to help anyone that needs them. I'm in the Phoenix area.

For TDI folks in central Alberta I have Vag-Com and an adapter cable. I have to borrow a laptop however. I am about 75km East of Red Deer.
