I think the end of the second half would be most likely. I'm waiting on either the GTD or an AWD JSW... Decisions decisions

AWD would certainly reduce mpg, increase weight and moving parts, etc. Not necessary in most US climates, especially in LA or here, Austin.

Not really even necessary in Canadian climates; FWD, 4 good snow tires, traction/stability control, have never left me wanting.

"Volkswagen said low-friction bearings on the crankshaft and balance shafts, as well as a two-stage, variable-flow oil pump, were among design cues that would make the EA288 more fuel efficient than its predecessors."

Anyone have an idea what the MPG will be with the new motor?

The Mazda has a dpf filter. It does not require Urea treatment though.

"Aftertreatment: Engine-mounted diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF)"

either you buy adblue and adblue system or you have a system like on the jatta with a NOx trap and use more fuel to clean the NOx trap. Which ever you think it best it's up to you.
