Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
OK so here is another question to add onto a post a few pages back...
The letters at the end of the cluster part number represent different engines and such and the only one explained are that C is for Diesel, what about B? I already know that A is for gas so what could B be for?

Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
top speed on the speedometer. B is 140MPH. C is 160 MPH. Both have the tach redline for the diesel (4500-5000).

Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
That tach redline of 6,500 should be considered as a pretty strong hint that you don't have the correct part number of cluster for your car... assuming your car has a diesel engine in it.

Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
i bought it off of a member of the VWVortex forums. He said that he bought this one (MPH) and another in (KMH). He liked the KMH Euro look better and stuck with that one.
As for the part number, i have 2. The one on the sticker on the outside is: 3B0-920-927B
But VAG-COM reads: 3B0-920-926BX
I think my car needs an A, but i don't have an A...

Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
According to the catalog, that cluster is for a Passat.
I doubt the cluster harnesses are identical. The harnesses could be the same, but the pin assignments need to be checked out.
Do you have a Bentley's manual?
Anyone here have the pin assignments for a Passat???
PTC, you out there?

Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
I know its for a Passat, this is an attempt at making my car different from everybody elses.
Somebody told me that the pin outs are the same. All i know is that the harnesses are correct and when i plug it in and turn my key, the Immo light blinks (expected) but the Brake light also blinks and there is nothing in the manual about that. When i use VAG-COM to check out what might be wrong it gives me an error:
00779 Vertical Motion Sensor (G90)
Open or Short to B+
Then i found out that that might not be the error that i have, it should say:
Ambient temperature sensor -G17-
Open/short circuit to positive
Short to earth
That is supposed to guve me dashes for a temperature, which is what i have b/c i still need to install the OAT sensor. What the hell is going on? LOL

Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
to verify the pin outs compatibility, you might want to look in the passat and golf bentley manuals at the diagrams for these connectors, and compare the 2, pin by pin....

Re: MFA Cluster Conversion! Pictures!!!!
I have the entire pin out from the Golf/Jetta, i think they were posted in this forum actually, but does anybody have the pinout for a Passat Cluster? This would be greatly appreciated. This Passat cluster offers more options than the Golf/Jetta cluster like miles until empty. It also looks just like the the Euro Sport cluster just without the silver fill ins. I think it looks great. Well thanks to all that have helped me and those who might help me in the future and have a great Thanksgiving!
